Can you still play online on past years EA Sports games? For some reason I thought I read EA pulls online play ability in past years games.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why they pull servers. They pulled Def Jam Icon and that's only been out like a year, plus there is really nothing else like it on the market.
The game might honestly not be that good, but it would have been cool to play it a few times online.

As was mentioned before I believe all 06 servers are no longer available, but the 07 games are still available. Funny thing is you can still enter the in game lobby's in the 06 games, but you cannot start a game up.

I heard a rumor about these shutting down on one of the achievement forums, but I never found a confirmation on it. Do they post this information on the EA message boards, or is there some place where we can get official information on what is definitely shut down and get heads up when there is a date announced for a potential shutdown?
Personally I think it sucks that EA pull this stuff, not only because there are achievements tied to online play, but what if someone picks up a cheap copy of madden 06 for and wants to play their friend online? I guess from a business sense selling Madden 09 for $60 is what they want, but how much can it really cost them to keep these servers up? Not 100% positive on this but I'm thinking when EA and Microsoft butted heads back when the first xbox came out this might have been one of the issues. /end rant
