PA: Twisp and Catsby Limited Edition Laser Print?

Maizrim

CAGiversary!
Does anyone know of a rough estimate/value of the Penny Arcade limited edition (500 made) laser cell print titled, "Tea with the Moon"?

I have a friend who is interested in finding one, but we have had no luck finding anything about it since they were sold back in the day.

One wiki page said (when talking about T and C)... "Prints of their panels have since sold for over a thousand dollars."

Read it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Penny_Arcade_characters#Twisp_and_Catsby

This isn't very specific about whether or not it's the print in question, or something else PA has done with the characters since their creation.

We have looked for awhile now with various descriptions for Google/Ebay searches and have had no luck... so I thought I'd ask you guys. (of course I searched CAG for mention of this before posting, unless it went unnoticed in my old age)

Anyone know where to look or have some info me? Thanks!

Not to hijack/derail this (sorry, Maizrim), but if any PA experts come by, I'd also love to get an estimate on what the Brothers In Arms/Splinter Cell Third Echelon Spy Training PA comic from E3 signed by both of the guys might be worth. I've been considering selling mine but have no idea what it would go for.

FWIW, Maizrim, I feel like both of us might be in luck since PA fans seem pretty hardcore.

Yeah, I get that feeling as well since there aren't any signs of people selling these prints.

On the other hand, if someone did... it makes you wonder how high the first print (T&C) would go for since there were only 500 made. (and I've always wondered if Gabe kept 1 of 500 too) :)

Hmm, this site mentions that one was on eBay with a starting bid of $220, and that was a few years ago, so I'd say it's safe to assume it'd go for at least that.

Interesting, and even more because that post is 3 1/2 years old too... would something like that go up in price over time? (like most collectibles?)

I did see this, though noone replied to his Want it Now post:

Time is a factor, but nowhere near as great as the fact that PA is at quite a high peak right now with the recent advent of PAX and the PA PC game. They're much more popular now than they were even a year ago, let alone 3+ years ago when they were merely a webcomic.

I would say the only thing that can bring them to a higher peak from this point on is if they got a deal for a Cartoon Network series or the likes, which I'm sure would go over very well but probably be cancelled after one season then syndicated on G4 for the next 2 years. :)

I'm enamored with the painting where Twisp and Catsby are underwater and Twisp is fishing for a butterly. This one is a perfect blend of trippy but cute, and I really wanted to get it for my son's room. That one's not Tea and the Moon, is it?

At any rate, I think it's too late, but I'd still love to have a print of that one.

Oh snap necropost.

Blah, blah, blah, times are rough, joining the Army but I need money until they send me to Boot Camp. I bought this print and I'm trying to figure out how much people would be willing to pay for it. I have #060 out of 500 if that matters, it's still in the original wrapping and matte with the certificate, medallion, etc. Would not ship it with a frame.

I found this thread when I was trying to determine how much these sell for, but apparently nobody ever sells them. Not even necessarily willing to part with it, gotta think about it some more. Times are rough right now but am I going to regret selling it later? Definitely wouldn't be willing to part with it for less than $500.

Update: I decided to sell my copy of the print this past week. (my buddy was able to pick one up through a friend of a friend back in '08)

I posted it this past Sunday night and by Monday morning, I had multiple watchers and a starting bid of $499.99. (with 5 days/10 hours left)

Just goes to show that some limited editions go up in value, unless of course it's a "LE" video game.

I bought #80 and #81 the day the prints went on sale 1/11/05 (for $80), almost immediately I sold #81 on eBay for about $300.

Someone on these very forums just sold one a couple months ago via ebay. It was mint, still in the plastic wrapping, and sold for roughly $500-$600 if I remember correctly.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I've been searching for one of these for a long time. If anyone has one for sale shoot me a PM and we'll negotiate. I'm willing to pay a decent price if the lithograph is in mint condition.

I'm right there with you and feel your pain. I've been searching since day one.

For what it's worth, I haven't run in to one for less than $1,000 in the last year or so.

I have a "Tea with Moon" print I'd like to sell. It's on nyc craigslist: "Penny Arcade Limited Edition Print."

I'd rather not ship it, but I guess I could if I can't find someone in NYC to buy it.

Oh man. I'd totally buy that. I don't suppose you'd take credit by means of Square or PayPal? I'd drive down to NYC to make the transaction.

Any idea what the Cardboard Tube Samurai prints go for these days? I haven't been able to find any recent auctions or anything like that. I'm looking to sell mine - still in the original plastic!

If anyone is interested, I've put up the CTS print for auction on ebay. I'm a new user here, so I can't post the link, but you should be able to find it easily in a search. We'll see how it does.

Hello everyone,

Not sure if anyone is still interested, but I have a Twisp & Catsby laser print that I managed to purchase when they were released, which I would now like to sell. I had always intended to frame it and hang it in the computer room, but after almost seven years in the box, it is pretty obvious that isn't going to happen. It is #265 of the 500 print set, and is still in the plastic envelope that it came in. I am happy to send photos or any other information if you are interested in purchasing.

Cheers,
Daniel

I'd be interested - how much are you looking to sell it for?

Reviving an old post, but there is a Twisp & Catsby Laser Print up on Ebay right now if anyone is still looking for it.

Oh man. I wish I had $400. I was looking to spend $500 before.... funny how life works like that sometimes. -_-

Is anyone still interested in the Twisp and Catsby print? I currently own number 098 of 500, signed and with the certificate of authenticity.
It's in mint condition in a nice professional frame. The print went in the container it arrived in directly to framer the day it was delivered.

Did you have a price in mind?

Did this sell? Or is anyone else interested in selling one of these? I've been chasing one since about two hours after they sold out...

I posted my copy of the Twisp and Catsby laser cel on eBay - currently selling for $36!
I'm a new user, so no links for me, but searching for twisp and catsby finds it. Auction ends on Sunday.

The print is still available. I would rather not go through ebay, but send a PM and we can discuss price and how to ship it.
