Questions about PS2 Netowrk Adapter/HDD

Hi everyone,

I may be looking at buying a used PS2 and just had some questions about PS2 network adapters:

1. There are some network adapters that are *only* network adapters and DO NOT contain connectors for a hard drive -- is that correct?

2. If above is correct, how can I tell (besides opening it up) if the network adapter comes with the hard drive connectors or not?

3. Do network adapters work in all (fat) PS2s besides the really early models that don't have the expansion bay?

4. I know there are at least two versions of the adapter, one with a modem one without, but are there other variations I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

1. Nope. All PS2 Network Adapters have the HDD connector on them. Whether they have just an ethernet connector or both ethernet and phone jacks on the back, they both have the HDD connector.

2. see above

3. Yep. The Network Adapter fits all "fat" PS2 models that have the expansion bay. Since the only "fat" models that didn't have the expansion bay were the very first Japanese models you have nothing to worry about. All NTSC U/C "fat" PS2s can use the NA.

4. Nope.
