So Ruckus ( http://www.ruckus.com ) closed yesterday and I am looking for an alternative. I was probably the only one who the service, but it was nice being able to just download and listen to an album before deciding if it was worthy of a purchase or not. I know there are services like Ruckus out there. Which one has the best price and selection? Are there any free, ad-based ones like Ruckus?

Thanks

Thanks for recommending Pandora. I already use Pandora to discover new music. I used Ruckus to download and listen to other tracks by the artist that I found using Pandora.

I know my sister uses Playlist.com, but again, I'm looking for more of a service where I can listen to an entire album. Also, the streams differ in quality.

I saw that Kazaa has relaunched as an unlimited music subscription like Ruckus for $19.95 a month. Napster has something similar as well.

Yahoo used to have an unlimited music service like Ruckus that was pretty cheap, but they stopped the service recently.

Anyone else have any other recommendations?

I have the Microsoft Zune and if you're looking for a paid subscription service, you should try that out. Its $15 bucks a month, PLUS you get credit to buy 10 tracks. Yes, you get to KEEP 10 tracks every month.

I think about 3/4ths of the songs in the Zune store is DRM-free, so that's always a plus.

You can download the software for free and check out the store. I think its pretty good as a music player as well.

Let me know if you have any questions, I've been using it for a while now.
