~Very weird problem~

Ok, a few months ago I had to use my Best Buy 2 year warranty because my 360 got the Red Ring. Now...my 2 year warranty is still good for another year and I'm already having another problem.

A few days ago when I turned on my 360 it sounded like the fan inside was going bad because it was making a weird errr sound while playing a game. But I thought nothing of it and kept playing. Now today, my 360 would not power on or anything, so I was getting ready to take it into Best Buy and I unplugged my controller, and decided to try to power on, and it WORKED. Now this is where it gets weird, I can power on my 360 without a controller plugged in, and I can turn it on via wireless controller. But once I plug in the controller, it won't power on. Also if I turn it on w/o the controller plugged in, then plug the controller in, its almost as if the cord is dead because it doesn't charge the controller.

So...do you guys think Best Buy will give me a new system, or do you think I'll have to get it refurbished? (even if its just the controller cord, because the fan does sound pretty bad and its loud)
 
Tell them what? That the fan is making the sound or the cord is messed up, because I don't want them to just give me another cord... I guess I'll give best buy a call
 
I had a Best Buy warranty plan and when I got RROD I just took it in and they gave me a new one, it worked out because I ended up getting a 60gb with HDMI so I was pleased with the end result.

i did the same thing and got it near christmas so it had two games with it and since it was new it had 3 one month free accounts with it
