I'm debating between two headsets to replace the stock 360 headset I have. I really like the idea of getting a wireless headset, I have a 3 year old and 2 cats that make wires a real problem for me.

But the X1 seems like a pretty sweet headset to have and $50 is really more than I want to spend on either so I won't be upgrading to the X3 or X4.

So for the $50 I am willing to spend, should I get the Microsoft wireless headset or the Turtle Beach X1?

Get the wireless headset, I love mine and would never go wired again. I personally enjoy the quality and convenience of my wireless over my old wired one. I wouldn't bother getting a turtle beach unless it was wireless, and the other ones are pretty expensive for a headset.

They really fulfill two different purposes. If you need to game without disturbing others, then you should get the X1's. If this doesn't matter, pick up the wireless headset.

That being said, I have the X1 headset and would recommend them.

Personally I'd just get the wireless...you already get a wired one with the console which works fine for me anyways, but if I was to, for some reason, buy another headset, I definitely wouldn't spend 50$ on a wired one.

I own the wireless and it really is a great piece of kit, the battery life is also very good.

Go for the wireless headset

If you like playing at night and like to hear footsteps coming around the corner the X1 is a good choice especially since you can talk on the mic without any game sounds distorting it. Just got my X1s yesterday and played Gears 2 for about 5 hours straight and I could definitely say I can hear a lot of the ingame sounds more clearly than my regular speakers and since I was gaming at night I wasn't bothering anyone.

Only con about the X1s is it has a lot of wires (long wires) but since I have it hooked up to my PC and 360 right in front of me it doesnt bother me at all. With the wireless headset you can move around the room/house etc... without any wires but you will still need your speakers to hear in game sound so if you like gaming in the morning/afternoons then the wireless is good choice but for late night gamers like me the x1s is a good choice as well.

I just looked on GAME.co.uk X1s are priced at £50 while the wireless headset is £35. But they are both intended for different reasons.

I had a wireless headset and it was good although it always run out of charge which became so annoying. The X1s look big but not too big.

This is great input guys. I'm beginning to think someday I should have both! I'll probably start deal hunting for the wireless headset.

Thanks again for the input
