Looks as if Best Buy has just received its stock of God of War 3 preorder boxes. Supporting both versions of the title, Best Buy is offering a 10$ savings on the purchase of God of War Collection and also the preorder will net you the much talk about E3 2009 demo (be on the look out for my impressions soon, and a nice surprise). Get out there and preorder the Ultimate Edition while the supplies last. *to get 10$ off the collection you must purchase the God of War 3 preorder at the same time.

This would be awesome if my need for speed shift points ever posted. 40 days now..how long does it take for freaking points to post so i can get my certificates?
 
Your post seems interesting but the way you explain it confuses me.

To get the $10 off do I have to pre-order both the God of War collection and God of War 3, or can I get $10 off by just pre-ordering one title? If I have to pre-order both titles, is it just $10 off the God of War collection, or is it $10 off both titles, or is it 5 off both titles?

they are very very reliable with returning...
I trade Games (new unopend) with out recipt in various Bestbuys.

a lot i can reserve take promotion (CD , download stuff, ect) and return or cancel the reservation or move the credit.

Its $10 off from only collection .
 
You're not really saving that much. With tax for me it'd be like $33 which is $4 cheaper than getting it at Amazon, but you have to go to the store and do the reserving, etc...perhaps even waste gas to go there

or if u just want the demo, just pre order from gamestop, amazon or anywhere else and get a the code, beat the awesome demo in 15 min, cancel ur pre order!
 
11/10 - Just for the record I just went to BB and they've already taken down the GOW collector edition boxes the "nice" clerk [after some prodding] said they'd honor it since they are just out of preorder boxes [more like I think they've taken them down] and the expect the shipment exactly next week 11/17. Here's hoping they they're being honest and not just bluffing me or the price magically changes upward by $10.

ah, welcome to the never ending wait for reward zone points & certs! 40 days seems like a long time. The stuff actually posts once the return period is reached. If you are silver premiere this could be why, as you would need to wait 45 days. Also, once something moves from 'pending' to posting, it could take up to 5 days until your certs actually become valid.

Me thinks they are taking their sweet ass time so A large portion of us (people like me) cant use our certificates on black friday.
 
I just got back from BB here in Utah and they said the entire district doesn't have the GoW collection. Thats Idaho, Utah and Nevada. They have the dozen other games that came out but not the collection

SO now I have to wait to get the collection. I guess I'll go back to playing GoW on my Go then :whistle2:(
 
Yeah, that's a no-go for Houston, TX as well. Went to two best buy's during lunch, neither had it, checking BB.com yields "Unavailable" for all surrounding zip codes.

What gives? shipping error?? I really want my GoW for $30!!!

Yikes. It's not like these are brand new games. Sure, they have new shiny graphics, but these games are a couple of years old. No need for all the bashing. Especially, since you're all getting a good deal.
 
Doesn't the GOW Collection come with a GOWIII demo packaged in with it? If so why does it matter if you get one preordered?

so, just checking again this morning, all stores still say unavailable...

Is this going to be delivered by a UPS truck or something? and if so, will it take until overnight for BB.com to update status? or are things like that more instant??

I wonder if this deal is still on going once the Collection is available and you still want to preorder GoW 3. My shipment got delayed on Amazon, so I may have to look around BB.

yeah I believe it is still good. If you notice, there aren't any pre-order boxes for the collection itself, rather one for the regular edition GoW3 and the CE Pandora's Box. They both say that you can "Save $10 on GoW: Collection when you pre-order GoW 3"

So my guess is, if you can find a box for GoW 3 pre-order, you're set! Also, only a $5 deposit required for the CE at BB, better than $10 at GS...
 
Spfld, MO store finally got theirs. They had to go to the back to get it. They also had to manually adjust the $10 off the collection so watch when you check out if you're pre-ordering GOW 3.

figures! with the phrase "*See sales associate for details." right on the box, you always gotta assume either something is fishy or only 5% of the employees working there will actually know the details of the deal.

EDIT: Which copy did you pre-order? and what did your total look like? still around $38-$40 but including tax??
 
Pre-ordered regular version, will probably cancel the pre-order since release is a few months away and Amwzon will probably have a deal of some kind on it (video game credit or discount).

My total was $37.39 w/tax.

I've also been thinking about the B1G1 $20 off at TRU and get SW: FU Sith Edition, then spend $15 more and use the $10 gift card coupon.
 
Whatever you do, do NOT preorder on bestbuy.com. They will charge you the entire amount for GOW3 preorder (instead of $5), and will hold onto the entire funds until the game releases...do this deal in the store!
 
Yea went to do the preorder the ultimate edition and picked up gow collection, the sales rep said they would apply the 10 dollars off when I picked up gow iii in April?! I told her the box said very specifically that I get $10 off the collection and not god of war iii. She wouldn't budge so I just bought the collection, went outside and called best buy cs and explained that they were not honoring the deal they had advertised. They offered to send me a $10 gift card so I just accepted it. So for anyone trying to do this deal, make sure you look at your final total as stated by an earlier post.
 
Just called my local best buy. I asked the lady i spoke with about what to do about getting the 10 bucks off, she suggested i bring the pre-order box, and the receipt to prevent any confusion. So just a heads up for anyone who'se going to pick it up today.
 
I just got back and they did not initially take the 10 off though I did see it on the screen. I went back and they gave me a whole 10 gift card. Which i turned into a 10 PSN card and will put towards the price of LBP PSP on my Go.
 
Went and picked up GoWC today from BB. Had to ask them for it, and the guy went to back and came back with about 20 of them. Took the GoW3UE pre-order box to the register and the lady didn't know how to make the $10 off promo work so I went to Customer Service. The CS lady did it and the total came out to $37.38. I used a $10 RZ Cert and it was only $27.

If I decide to keep this reserve for GoW3 Ultimate Edition.. will this mean that when they get them in they'll keep one for me at Customer Service like I have seen them do with Prestige Edition of MW2? Or it is just a "hey here is a fake reserve for this game, and we just hope we have enough" kind of thing?
 
Best buy on the local area and actually everywhere in where i live include target, wal mart, everywhere else still didnt have copy
 
I actually tried to pick this up today, but low and behold my BB hasn't gotten in the God of War Collection yet. :(

Same here but I just pre ordered the reg. edition. The chick at the cash register told me that she's had trouble w/ the whole $10 off promo but she would just call the manager to override it. On a side note I also managed to p/u the last copy of John Adams on BD.
 
WTf. this is totally YMMV...

I spent 45 minutes at the register...and they finally so no. They will not offer it (despite me having the package and an all. I'm mostly annoyed they kept me so long and then said no... I meah sesh. It was their dam box. Not my fault it wasn't in the system. Who has the 1800 number to corporate head quarters I want to complain....complain!!! 45 minutes of my live I'll never get back ARgh!
 
I guess this an ok deal.

But id rather pay 36.99+56.99+no tax = 93.98 from amazon (with possibility to use amazoncredit too)
instead of 39.99+59.99+tax -10.00 = 97.00 from bestbuy.
 
Ordered this on BB.com yesterday, set both games for pick-up in store. Printed my email, and picked up GoWC during my lunch break. $29+tax.
