You can download Home and run around the city, chat with others, decorate your apartment in it, watch videos in the city, go into game themed areas to play mini games or win items for your apartment, go bowling or any number of things.

Videos you download on your pc like movies or tv show episodes or whatever can be put onto a flash drive, plug it into the front of the ps3 and watch on there in quite good quality will full options just like a dvd/blue ray for like rewinding, zoom, full screen, and so on. Divx and avi files supported among some others.

Play your games online for free.

If you have even like a cheapo blutooth ear piece for your cell can use it on your ps3 for when you play online for voice chat in games.

Go to the PSN store and watch some episodes of pulse for free which are quickie game videos and some episodes of qcore are free to watch, download demos or whatever else from the store.

Can make free video phone calls using a webcam and a headset.

Can do folding at home on your ps3 http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-PS3

Can setup your pc to stream audio and video from your pc if you have an internet connection to it either by the rj45 jack in the back or its built in wireless adapter.

Connect to PSN and beat your friends in your favorite PS3 titles. Then talk a lot of trash with a microphone.I love my PS3 and starting to expand my collection for it.

Havent messed around too much besides steaming some video from my pc, Been setting up Tversity to watch hulu on there, kinda confused so far, plan on putting a few hours in now on getting the most out of my ps3.

As a long time 360 owner I must say the silence is incredible.
