Shadowrun - Snes or Genesis

Rooster752

CAGiversary!
I'm thinking about playing this for snes or genesis. I know they are both good in their own ways. Anybody played both? Preferences?

I have played both although not in equal quantities. I rented the SNES version way back when and didn't really enjoy it. I can't remember my exact complaints as it has been at least fifteen years but it didn't grab me. The Genesis version is great. It is a much more open experience with a variety of tasks to take on. Breaking into various corporate headquarters and looting them is a blast. Again, not many specifics because it has been so long but I do know that I prefer the Genesis version by quite a bit.

I really liked the Genesis version. Like Halo05, I played just a bit of the SNES and I didn't find anything about it to be better than the Genesis version.

I've only played the SNES version, and I think you should try it. Judging by common opinion, you might want to play it first and the Genesis version afterwards; save the best for last (unless you don't have much free time).

So for the record, the SNES version is fun in its own way; there isn't much else like it on the system, especially regarding the atmosphere.

I had the Genesis version and it was a great play. A friend had the SNES version, and I will admit the production values on that game was better. Could also be because of the system too.

Forget that they share the same name, they are two completely different games. They have as much in common with each other as they do the Xbox 360 Shadowrun.

The Genesis one is one of the all time great games. The SNES one is good to pretty good.

Thanks for all the feedback. I don't really have the time/desire to play 2 versions of the same game so I think i'll stick with the genesis one.
