Dr Horrible Blu Preorder $10.99

Man, there just isn't anything else I want to buy to bring this order to $25. I wish Iron Man would drop below $15 again...
 
I'll probably end up getting this, even though I have a collection of Dr. Horrible options already - got a signed copy of the DVD release plus a few screener copies somewhere...
 
It doesn't say so on the Amazon product page, but I could've sworn I read somewhere that there'd be some extra features on the Blu-ray not released on the DVD. I could be mistaken.
 
I bought the itunes season, then purchased the DVD in the order of release. Sorry, but I'm gonna pass on the Blu unless they added features that can't be missed. Besides, I don't think you could improve on the vid quality all that much.

But yeah, if you don't have it yet, buy. It's funny as hell.
 
You can always improve on the video quality. A DVD will always have compression artifacts that could be eliminated on Blu-Ray, to say nothing of the extra detail. And it was shot on HD cameras, ya know.
But yeah, it's not like everybody's going to replace their DVDs regardless of improvements.

yeah, it was done by a pretty major director so this isn't some rinky dink fan made type of thing like some people think

Joss was just bored during the writer strike, so he made it.
 
Crap is still crap in high definition.

There are a lot of Blu-ray kool-aid drinkers who fawn over the resolution jump. I don't happen to be that obsessive and enjoy DVDs all the same. Of course as prices come down, it'd be a natural evolution to move on to Blu for anything I don't already have.

Dr. Horrible is not crap however. 'My Eyes' is poignant, and you gotta love Capt. Hammer's douchery in 'A Man's Gotta Do'. Poor Penny when she first gets "saved".:rofl:
 
I got my Dr. Horrible today (at Best Buy) and mine came with a Dr. Horrible comic book. Also the case is one of those eco-cases with a lot of missing plastic...if you care.

Weird, I got mine today from amazon and the case is normal. No missing plastic behind where the disc goes.

Hey guys obviously im missing something here but can someone explain what this is?? I havent seen it before but looking at all the reviews it seems like people really like it.
 
It is a 90 minute musical starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Filian and Felicia Day. NPH is Dr. Horrible out to become a super villian and get into the Evil League of Evil, and is also after Felicia Day as a love interest. Captain Hammer (Filian) is in the way of both of those things.

It's really charming and well written. If you're not sure about it I think it is instant streaming on Netflix right now.

Yeah, it's only 42 minutes. It's definitely worth a buy though. It also includes a unique musical commentary that basically doubles the viewing length.

There are 2 differnet eco cases. The ones with missing plastic and open holes in them are made by amaray I think

The one I got had less plastic but it had no holes, just indentations behind it that saved a bit of plastic. On the spine it says those are Viva.. so they are eco Viva-Elites.

The Viva ones don't feel nearly as cheap and are much nicer in my opinion.
