after i get paid this week im looking to get a headset for my 360. should i go with the trittons (which im leaning more toward since i dont have to keep putting batteries in them since they're wired) or the turtle beach x31's? or should i just wait and get some astro's are astro's worth it?

I'm also interested in finding this out. My turtle beaches have a badly frayed cord and I can see them shorting out pretty soon. Might be a good opportunity to try the [lower-end] trittons out.

oh, and nice username, dude. Was listening to labcabincalifornia just the other day.

I'd get the Astros. I personally have the Turtle Beaches X3's that I'm borrowing from a friend. There was a problem with them in and I sent them in and they got fixed for free just had to pay for shipping.
The only thing that kept me from the Astros was that they didn't do true 5.1 and are just stereo.
really they don't do legit 5.1 thats a big driving point for me.....

honestly i've heard only good things about the trittons my firend has them too and loves them.... i think im gonna go with them. does anyone know if they're compatible with HDMI

I have had a set of Tritton AXPro's for about a year and a half now. Talked two others into purchasing sets right afterward. Everyone is very happy with them, and we have had no problems yet.

i picked up a pair of X41 with the 7.1Dolby and i got a decent deal on them for $130 shipped new, and kinda debated the purchase until i wore themfor the first time... worth every penny. coming from PC gaming for years, i have used Tritton's, astros, A-4tech, razer, and all manner of headsets in competitive FPS play since 1999 ( yeah im old )... and for 360.. get the X41's. just make sure to get rechargeable batteries a piece of tape for the mic jack ( design issue ) the others are either overpriced, overhyped, or lacking in the surround department. just my opinion

Though back a bit and remembered this:
