God of War Collection - game freezes

I have a 60Gb phat. Have no issues playing any games whether for PS1, PS2, or PS3.

I've been trying to play this collection for awhile now and having lots of problems. When I first started playing it, it was ok up until I got to the Athens Townsquare in GoW I. Now every time I try to continue, it freezes within a couple of minutes of starting. I was advised to try doing the file restore which I did and it's still the same.

I went and got another copy at GS. Put it in and it's even worse. Now after selecting GOW I from the menu it freezes. I deleted the save files and it's still doing the same. Tried my disc again and got just past the intro and it froze again.

I really want to finish this so I can get started on GoW3.

What else can I do?
 
From what I've read, the Collection is nerfed on most 60GBs (I would imagine 20 GB models also applies to this).

I'm going to wait until I get a slim to play it, myself.

I have a 60gb too, and I had issues as well, as in the game locked up my system after I played through GoWII for about 20 minutes to see what it looked like. Makes me glad I have the PS2 versions (I played my nephews copy of GoW Collection) Didn't know it was bug prone on the older systems.

Hope you get your problem fixed, otherwise I'd say just buy and play the older versions, no trophies, but still the same games, albeit a bit more jaggier.
