FREE Boycot BP bumber sticker

I just went to fill this out for one and the next page was asking for a donation of atleast 5 bucks. Also it is only till the spill is cleaned up.

That's a pretty subjective standard. By some accounts the Valdez spill has still not been cleaned up.
Yeah! Let's hurt all of those small business owners at the BP stations. That'll show em!
Thanks, I'm glad someone can think about the consequences of there actions before they actually do it and impact others.

Not trying to be a buzz kill, but 95% of BP stations are independently run. I'm not even going to get into the political side of things.

If you don't want to support the oil industry, don't drive cars. This might the dumbest bumper sticker I've ever seen.

I'm well aware of this, but man it's still hard to give them a completely free pass in my mind sometimes. Mostly cause they do still carry BP gasoline and BP does get paid when you get gas from them... it's one of those you want to show BP you think they messed up the only real way you can (with your wallet) but do you hurt the dude who just got the franchise he could cause people don't want to get gas from "Jim's Gas Station" and prefer BP or Citgo or Mobil, etc.

:bomb:

Passing on this sticker, but man what a sticky issue... get it... oil is sticky... it's a sticker... sorry.

My mom worked for Amoco, which was absorbed into BP. She retired 2 years ago. She recently dumped her remaining BP stock. I'd be scared if I was your run of the mill BP employee, because chances are they'll take the brunt of the damages this and other incidents have caused.

I would like to sneak one on her car, though. I wonder what she'd think?

Gas stations tend to make very little money off of the gas they sell. Most stations make majority of their money from the items inside such as the food and drinks. If you want to hurt big BP, just don't buy their gas from the stations. If you still buy the food and drink, you're helping out the independent owners, just not the fools that are dumping millions of gallons of oil into the water.

Yeah, seriously. That oil should be going into my car. Vroom vroom.

Oh ok just making things clear cuz it wants my credit card # and I was like WTF? I thought it's free.. Anyway thanks man for making it clear

I think bp made a mess of "our oil" I mean look at 2008 we were panicking y the hell gas prices so high.. And now 2010 watch out on the gas prices I wouldn't be suprised if it rise up again :(

The boycott won't really hurt BP...Obviously they are being paid well enough by someone to let the oil just keep going and going..."you never want a serious crisis to go to waste"

Please call your representatives in the House and Senate and tell them NO on Cap & Trade (this spill will be used as leverage to try and pass it). "Under my proposed Cap & Trade...energy prices must necessarily skyrocket"

They had no control over it though. BP does not own stations anymore, they only supply gas. Maybe you're hurting BP a bit when you drive by a BP station, but as you acknowledge you're hurting the franchise far more.

This could have just as easily happened to any of the other oil companies, and I doubt any of them would have handled it any better than BP.

As someone else pointed out, if you want to make a real statement stop driving (I'll pass on that myself), but just giving your gas money to someone else is the wrong kind of statement to make.
