Laptop Advice

I'm looking for a decent laptop for college, preferably a decent gaming laptop that can run games like mass effect at at least medium settings for no more than around $1600 or so. I've been eying the Alienware M11x but want to know if anyone has any other recommendations.

If it's for school I would get one of the HP convertible tablets. They now have core i5 and ATi graphics hybrid with intel integrated for when you're not gaming. I have the previous version with the core 2 and it's just amazing. It won't be quite as powerful as the M11x, but it's by far the best thing you can get for school and should be powerful enough gaming wise
