Earthworm Jim HD Coming to PSN


A few weeks ago, Earthworm Jim HD dropped on Xbox Live. PlayStation 3 users were left wondering if and when the game would move over to the PlayStation Network. Well now we know.
According to the Official PlayStation Blog, Earthworm Jim HD is set to be released on the PSN this coming Tuesday, August 3rd. The game will run you $9.99.

Interesting. But what the fuck is it with companies and the $9.99 pricetag?

I'd probably own more downloadable titles on PSN if they were actually cheaper.:roll:

It's called matching the price that is on Xbox Live... $9.99 is not a bad deal for this game with updated graphics and sound.

Matching the price? What about beating the price of the nearest competitor? I guess Amazon is the only place to get downloadable titles at decent prices, since $10 is too much for digital content with no resell rights.
 
Sweet! I was wondering when this was coming out. Now to figure out when to actually play it with my slowly growing backlog. :(

The companies making the games set the prices, not Sony and MS. They take a cut from each copy sold, and it's likely very similar for both services.

That being said, games go on sale for 50% off on both services all the time. After Burner Climax is on sale on PSN right now for $5, and that's an entirely original game. $5 is not at all a bad price for a game, considering simply renting a game would cost you that much. I'm more bothered by the $15 and $20 prices some games are seeing as of late.
 
Five bucks isn't bad, but I couldn't tell you the last time I rented a game, especially since joining CAG. So the $10 pricetag is a bit much for my liking, considering how many $5 and under games I've bought in the last 5 years.

The majority of my PSN games I've bought have been $5 or free.
 
There is a demo on the UK psn store if anyone wanted to give the game a look before next week. Looks like amazon will be selling codes for the game also, for those who are interested.

Anybody interested in game sharing this? $2 a share. I can host. Will redeem my $10 RZ certificate from BB as soon as my local BB restocks on the $10 PSN cards which I hope is soon.
