Batman AA CE (Xbox 360) $38 - Amazon (sold and shipped by HubbaGames)

The game is great, but IMO the CE isn't worth it. You get a bonus disc, a "villians log" (basically a print version of what you have in-game), some challenge maps and a batarang. The batarang is tiny and made from cheap plastic, it almost looks like a dollar store toy. I would rather suggest springing for the GOTY edition.

I'm a huge Batman fan (as the username would suggest) and even I couldn't stomach the cost of the CE. Huge disappointment and still not worth it a 42 bucks. (IMHO)

Thanks for the deal. My buddy has been on the hunt for the PS3 version of the CE, he'll be highly upset that the 360 is this low and not the pS3 version :)
 
hm. my bf is a HUGE batman fan/collector and I know he wants this no matter how cheap the plastic batarang is..... but what's the difference between this and the CE? just the 3D aspect?

The Batarang is considerably huge, attached to a stand, and scathed for supposed artistic effect. Excellent game, awkward collector's edition.

I don't recall it being particuarly large, especially in relation to the case itself. I didn't know it was supposed to be all marked-up though, when I got mine it just looked scuffed, I figured it was a machining error or something.

The GOTY version has the challenge maps and the 3D, the CE has some (but I don't think all) challenge maps batarang, journal, bonus disc.
 
What a shame this collectors edition turned out to be. I was so excited for it and it came out to be more disappointing than awesome. The quality of the batarang threw me off from ever buying it, although, if I do catch it somewhere for maybe $25 I'd pick it up. I already have the game (just platinum'd it last night actually :)) but I loved it and batman so much I'd get it just to have it.

Makes me wonder if the LBP2 CE and AC:B CE is going to be disappointing as well. I hope not.

And if he is that much of a collector, I'd go ahead and get this over the 3D GOTY version if that is the decision.

As I said, I'm the same way, no matter how cheap it is, in the end, I still want it because it's Batman.

Looks like it's down to $34.99 as of this posting.

A good deal for what was once an incredibly expensive CE, but I'm just going to hold out to buy the PC version once it drops under $10. In this case, I'd rather get a better version of the game for a cheaper price than pay extra for a CE that isn't all that enticing (although I do love CEs...)
 
The $34.99 price is from a 3rd party seller, Hubbagames.

However, shipping is only $3 so total is $38; still cheaper than $42 with free shipping from Amazon.

Man I had this in my cart the other day when it was $41.99, but still couldn't do it.

Now it's $4 cheaper and still can't. For those that played the Joker challenege map, how is it? Does it have good replay value? Does The Joker talk at all during it?

Yeah, the Joker's got his own moves and gadgets plus a whole different way of playing: since the Joker can't grapple around like Batman he's stuck on the ground, which mixes things up a bit and adds some challenge. And yeah he's got some quips and dialogue in it.

After I platinum'd last night I was about to take the game out of the PS3 but I thought let me give the Joker a try. I played one challenge room with him and it felt a little weird. It was fun, he talked a little bit, had some funny animations and moves and controls the same as batman, one room was enough for me. I don't know why, it might have been from being so fed up with the combat rooms. Just know, if you don't already, you can only play him in challenge rooms and he is on any PS3 version, not just the CE.

So short story long, it's alright. If you're a big Joker fan you'll have fun with it. And if you're not tired of the game and love the combat, it is a fresh twist to it since you've played with Bats for so long.
 
Damn I too have been holding out on this one. For those that have the GOY edition, how much more content is there than this? Wondering if I should just wait on a price drop for the GOY edition, due to the fact it probably has more content and would probably just throw that plastic boomerang in the trash.
 
I ordered it. I borrowed the game from a friend and beat it. I really want to play it again and add it to my collection. I think the CE is neat, and for less than $40 shipped, I believe it is is of good value to me.
 
But of course the LE version is only $40 now, I finally gave in and bought the regular edition for $20. Motherhumperdink, I watched the LE for months while waiting for a price drop and right after a gave up hope... this.
 
im tempted at that price..i wanted the CE when it was announced only to hold off at launch... but i wouldnt mind the extras if the price dropped another 5-10$

I know i feel the same way. I actually want this but i already own the regular one. I want the GOTY one with 3d mode. I am waiting for that to go down in price. But i do not want to own 3 copies of the same game. I do want the bonus disc and batarang even if it sucks. I just do not want the game disc.

Personally, I'm not sure I even want the box that this came in... Frankly, it really big, its not that great of a collection and I think the room to store showcase could be better used...

Personally, I would look around for the DC Direct Batman *Black and White Arkham Asylum statue... I've seen them for as low as 50 bucks.

* Black and White is a series of Batman statue that DC Direct has made over the years so if you want the game related on make sure you search for Arkham Asylum.

Well, if you're in the area you can check my trash bin. I kept the game, but that damn batarang has always been an eyesore to me. I tried listing it on craigslist for a few months at $10 with no bites... I even eventually listed it for free, still no takers. On sunday when I was packing up to move I just gave up and tossed it in the trash. I find alot of comments here echoing my own about 6 months ago: "I don't care if it sucks I really want that batarang", but I really think you should get a look at it first, I was very dissapointed and wish I heeded the warnings.

man...if I were to throw out a batarang, I'd really throw it to see just how far it flew. as for CE swag, there comes a point when that stuff just starts to pile up and collect dust. Although I think I'd still find a place for a batarang, maybe over my keybox or toilet.
 
Order shipped today, so they are punctual about shipment. Ill let you know next week when it arrives.

I like CE swag sometimes. Fallout, Bioshock, Gears of War. I dont own a lot of CEs, but some of the things are just really cool. Seeing as I am a big comic book nerd, a batarang, even if it is plastic, is still really cool to me.
 
If this had a steelbook, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I would imagine if that were the case though, there wouldnt be all these extra CE's sitting around collecting dust.
