Star Wars TFU2 $17.99 or 2/$30 YMMV at Shopko

For those of you with a Shopko in your area, they have the new Star Wars game pictured for $17.99 or $30 for 2. This also includes some other budget games. I am sure this was supposed to be the old Star Wars game. It is worth trying to price match at Walmart or BB. Shopko will probably have ad correction signs up this morning.

You'd be better off getting the first game anyways. The second one is very ho-hum. Either way, good luck getting anyone to honor a 70% price difference.

I just got back. Got 3 copies for a grand total of $50.63!!!!!

Once again, I got the "This dude is stealing!!!!!!!" act. They even went so far as to tell me flat out that I was stealing.

Did you mention how stealing would be if you took them without paying?

Good deal, but no shopko near me so I doubt I could get any price adjustment on this anywhere here. Hopefully it will drop down to low prices nearly everywhere soon and I can pick it up then.

They don't have to honor it if they choose not to. Every print ad is subject to the accidental listings clause which includes wrong prices/items due to listing errors.

I suppose calling you names is better than denying your purchase. Did it ring up at the right price, did the cashier adjust, or did you have to escalate it to management?

It is in the shopko ad. The store has price error tags once you get there. Target, walmart, and best buy don't know that though. 6 copies for $90. So many christmas presents knocked out in one price match.
If only I could print out the ad and take it in. Its on the website, but I think I would need a real ad for the pricematch to work, right?
Walmart and Target require the full, actual print ad. Best Buy seems to YMMV, but at mine, they just look up the ad online for price matches.

Geez, no luck at mine. I didn't even try to buy two copies, I was just buying one and a regular $20 game...they had copies of the Sunday ad right in the entrance, and ended up having to grab one for proof. He called the manager over, but the manager wasn't comfortable honoring it. Bah.

Note about price matching: if you check the policies of Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc., they mention that they won't price match "misprints" in ads, so you would pretty much need to luck out with a manager who doesn't care. I don't think I'm even going to bother, because my local Best Buy makes a point to call the other store to see if the item is still in stock (they won't price match unless the other store has it in stock), my Target is super cautious about allowing such a large discount on an item and would check into it first, and the employees at my Walmart are so lazy they'd make any excuse to not have to figure out how to change a price on something.
Great deal, but this should probably be in regional, since this store seems to only be in the NW side of the US.
Y'know, normally I might agree...except then all of the deals related to BJ's, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Fry's, and brick-and-mortar GoHastings locations would also have to be moved to regional. It's kind of nice when one of these smaller chains that I actually have locally shows up on the deals forum.

I would jump on this opportunity (LOVE the first SWTFU game) but I'm not going to bother. Seems like price matching could be difficult with some places, not to mention I just spend about 100$ already this weekend on new video games. My wallet is off limits for a little while.

Besides, this game didn't really get rave reviews. I'm willing to bet in a couple of months it'll be worth the same price everywhere.

I just tried at Target and they said no because the nearest one was an hours drive away. hmph.
Its k. I'm willing to wait because its such a short game. My guess is it will drop pretty quickly anyway.

Got 2 at Walmart for $30. I was thinking of keeping 1 copy and trading in the other to amazon... but I'm not sure if the copies I got at Walmart have the same UPC (Walmart edition includes a prima mini guide) so I may not be able to trade it in.

We have ShopKos here in the Midwest, so shush.

It rang up as $59.99, and the guy freaked. He started giving me shifty eyes and everything. THen, he tried telling me the ad was out of date, even though he checked it beforehand. After 30 min, the cashier got manager override.

No luck for me today. Couldn't find any ads on display, and the customer service desk didn't have them either. I might check back in a day or two. Figure I won't actually be able to get the price at Shopko, but I'll drive right over to Walmart and don't expect any problems.

You may consider using Walmart as leverage to get it done in one trip. I simply told the guy I would go to WM to PM, and he suddenly seemed a tad more helpful.

I don't know what the deal is with people in this area. I did end trying Walmart (after Shopko was closed, just in case)...I didn't have any trouble until the manager comes over to approve it. He seems really uncomfortable, and takes the Shopko ad over to some other manager to discuss. Then he comes back and tries telling me they can't do it because it says "2 / $30"...I point out that it says below that "or $17.99," and he then goes over to Customer Service to call I don't know who about it. Finally, he comes over and okays it. I'm not sure how long the whole thing took, but it felt like 20 minutes.

If I'd brought up more than one copy like some of you people, the guy probably would've flipped out or something.

Was able to price match two for 30 at best buy. Didn't want to push my luck with more. It was nice because there was no way I was driving 40 miles to nearest shopko.

I think I got lucky with a guy who was trying to leave in a few minutes and a manager who was swamped who he approved it with but I have had good luck at this particular Best Buy and customer service.

Edit FYI I tried Target first and they wouldn't do it without a printed ad.
