Maybe the game has an install option? A lot of current PSP games do.

I agree though, I hate the screech of a UMD loading. but it's not enough to get me to buy anything on PSN yet (too pricy, can't resell.)

Game installs 164MB to your Memory Stick, load times between areas are never more than 3-4 seconds--you'd never know that game was running off the UMD.
 
I've never played any of the PSO games, but I play MHFU religiously. Are they at all similar? I know this is another loot-based grindfest, at least.

This is a lot more simple and accessible (i.e. less deep.) It's like diet Monster Hunter. Not to knock PSP2-- I like it for that!
