This has the looks of being this weekend's "Weekend Deal" at Steam since it started at 4:00 PM Thursday, right when the weekly deal expired. It hasn't been labeled as such, though.

Curse you greenman gaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just bought these save for shogun 2

The pack is kinda crappy, I mean yes its only $15 more, but it doesn't include the DLC or even the medieval 2 expansion. Same goes with the individual Empire Total War. I was all excited when I saw a total war deal, then I was all sad when I saw how lackluster it is. Though I suppose if you have never played these games then you know it might be woth picking up to.

Eh, I guess it's alright if you don't have any of these games (I happen to own all but Shogun 2).

Plus, there will inevitably be (crappy) DLC for Shogun 2 and it will drop in price. Frankly, after the disaster that was Empire, I'm gonna have to wait a while before I get Shogun.

Update. Steam says:
"To celebrate the upcoming release of Total War: SHOGUN 2, Steam will be offering a special sale on Total War franchise now through Monday, March 14th 10am PST."
So it's exactly like a weekend deal... but still not named as such. Here's hoping for another great bargain this weekend!

Updating OP with this information.

What was wrong with Empire: Total War?

The pack is kind of expensive since it includes Shogun 2 which isn't even out yet, plus it doesn't include the DLC. I'd rather them put together some sort of complete pack of older games + DLC. Also Empire doesn't include the DLC.

my backlog is too huge as well. Maybe if it included the DLC for Empire: Total War I would bite but since its not I'll skip it and be willing to wait till the next deal or xmas sale.
Rome: Total War Gold Edition is also on sale for $2.50 now.
It seems to have replaced Empire: Total War. Now they are saying 1 Total War game on sale each day. I'll update the topic.

I've been waiting a few months for Rome: Total War to be on sale again (missed it when it was $3 something) and this is the best price you can ask for.
