In the brand new NHL 12 features video, they have released a ton of brand new additions to the game including a full contact physics engine. Everything is now “LIVE” so you can hit players through the glass, into the benches, and right into the goalie. Like we saw in the screenshot they released earlier in the week. By the look of the video the goalies react realistically to the contact; another huge feature is the ability to jostle between forwards and defense man in front of the net. If you take control of a bigger player like say, 6 foot 9 Zdeno Chara from the Boston Bruins you will be able to clear the front of the net from pests like Sean Avery and those pesky Canadiens. But make sure you are careful because those smaller guys can move quickly away from your checks. They have also added some new desperation saves, which are very common to Tim Thomas, and now you can do it too. In addition to all of the goalie add-ons they have, you now have the ability to have goalie fights! Like Tim Thomas and Carey Price. The NHL Winter Classic will be featured at Hines Field in Pittsburgh So you can now battle the weather in addition to your opponent. At the end of the video, they say there’s going to be a huge announcement and it’s not just the release date which is set for September 13th 2011.
