Summer indie uprising

Althax

CAGiversary!
I wasn't even aware there was an indie uprising going on this week. The winter uprising last year had some interesting games. I didn't see any posts about it so I thought I'd start one. Here's a link to the website where you can watch an introductory video.

Personally, train frontier express looks good. My son would love watching me play with the trains. Cute things dying violsntly had a super meat boy vibe. I'll check out the demos for Redd, Doom & Destiny. TEC was really interesting too.

Since Vorpal 2 missed the cut, I am basically boycotting the SIU :(... I might pick up a game or two depending on reviews (they would have to be stellar). Cute Things Dying looks decent and it's only a buck. I might pick that one up if I enjoy the trial.

Just disappointing most of the games are 240 MSP.

Speedrunner HD might win me over though.

TEC is out now on the marketplace. Might look into that one as well.

Yea 240 is a lot to ask when they don't have achievements.

I don't know why really, achievements are completely useless and often annoying, but a little voice in the back of my head always shouts, "WHY ARE YOU WASTING TIME ON THIS GAME WHEN YOU COULD PLAY ANOTHER ONE AND GET ACHIEVEMENTS!? " I really hate that voice and wish I knew how to kill it!

yeah, i have a few xbli games, but i never buy anything over a dollar. I just can't seem to bring myself to spend that much on something that doesn't have achievements, that doesn't mean there aren't exceptions to this rule, just wish I knew what games were worth it before buying the whole thing (in most cases the trials just don't cut it)

Yeah the time trials are the worst! Just as I'm comfortable with it, boom! Over. Or better yet, the minecraft knock offs where I spend the whole time limit just reading menus and trying to figure out how to play.
