Game of Thrones Season 1 Blu-Ray $44.99, DVD $34.99 (preorder price drop)
Damn, that is nice. Anyone know If Best Buy matches pre-order prices? I'd still like to get the Stark set.
Not on Amazon, I don't believe. Still doesn't come out until March. Quite frankly, I'd be surprised if the price wasn't the same as Boardwalk Empire ($34.99) on release week.

Nice find, OP. Really would like the bonus disc you get from HBO but I can't justify paying almost twice as much as this. The BB covers are cool, but I can't decide which to get so I'll stick with the default one.

House stark is the one and only logical choice.

Does anyone know if you can pre order one of the best buy special editions and use the $5 off upgrade coupon?

Pretty sure it excludes TV, but I could be wrong.

I thought the upgrade and save coupons only applied to in-stock items - by nature this excludes preorders.

I had a BB rep on the phone and my order has confused the hell out of her. I preordered at $52.99 and applied $50.29 credit to it ($45 RZ, $5.29 GC). By my calculations, instead of having to pay a remainder, I actually should have a balance left on the GC after all said and done. I was just calling to confirm that would actually be the case

The problem is that the tax on the order right now shows at $0.70 for whatever reason that they don't understand (should be $5+), and they can't actually apply an $8 credit to get the $52.99 price down to $44.99 in the order. So I think their answer is to refund me the difference onto my credit card, which shouldn't even be used for the order... I'm not entirely sure, but she said she'd write detailed case notes so I can call back the day I get the item.

This is why I like Amazon more for preorders...

fuck the Starks. Give me Casterly Rock (don't know if it is an actual option).

If I did the instore preorder and want to cancel to preorder online from Best Buy can I get my five bucks back or am I screwed cause I got the keychain?

Well if you used a $45 reward zone credit then you wouldnt be able to use the credit for this since it is 44.99. When using reward zone credits the item you buy has to have a price equal to or greater than the value of your credit BEFORE taxes...I always hated this because I would get $20 coupons but couldnt by a 19.99 item without using a filler or breaking my rz credit into a $15 and $5 and having to pay the extra. That it unless they changed how this works now...regardless I just used my points now to purchase Amazon giftcards lol.

I was wondering the same... does the larger fan base make any difference?

Probably the production costs. Boardwalk Empire was filmed mostly with a green screen I believe. Game of Thrones was filmed on location in Ireland and Croatia.
