160gb ps3 like new worth $170

Please give me your opinion on getting a used 160GB ps3. Its in like new condition, barely used according to the ad. the guy said it has fw 3.55 and that makes it rare, more valuable, etc....

is it worth it?

PS and i checked ebay and he is right. they go for up to 500.
 
if you want it for just gaming then its not worth it you can get a new one for a bit more or even with games in a place like amazon wharehouse deals. the whole fw3.55 is all about being able to add an operating system i think but that seems odd since didnt the slims come out a while after they patched that out? are you buying a phat that has a bigger hd inside?
 
Is it that much? I have a 80 gig phat ps3 (non bc) and it's practically brand new. The firmware is like 2.0 or something. Very very low. I was about to sell it to a friend for 175 but he hasn't paid me. I should try ebay, maybe I can get 300.
 
Sounds like a good deal to me, personally I want to be able to go online more than I care to play burned or downloaded games, but a clean 160 gig for 170 ain't bad at all
