Metal Gear Solid HD Signed by Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa - SOLD

Feral Lynx

CAGiversary!
I'm selling a signed copy of MGS HD Collection (regular edition), that was signed by Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa at the Uniqlo store on 5th Ave and 53rd St, Manhattan, New York, on Friday June 8.

A few other Ebay sellers have posted up signed games by Kojima and Shinkawa without any explanation of the authenticity of the signatures. However, I'm providing the original stamped Uniqlo sales receipt on the day of the signing, as well as several pamphlets and a Uniqlo bag with Solid Snake's face, as proof that the signatures are legitimate.

Check out my Ebay listing on the link below:

^Thanks!

By the way, I am taking offers for this through Ebay. So, feel free to send me your best offer and I'll take it into consideration. The worst that can happen, is that I'll decline an offer if I believe that it's too low.

UPDATE: The signed game has been re-listed. Since I have decided not to exchange any of my Uniqlo shirts, the original receipt will now be included, instead of just a scanned copy.

^Thanks for the support! I love MGS too - it's by far, my favorite video game series. I met Kojima a few times in New York, and I have a few things signed from him. So, it's not a problem for me to let something go for sale on Ebay.

Cool item but I think you might be overestimating the worth of a video game makers signature plenty of famous sports stars autographs will never hit the $300 mark. I hope you find someone who really really likes Hideo though and just doesn't care about the price. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. But, I think this is a fair price range. I've sold several signed games by Kojima before, and each of them have sold for around $300. The only exception was Peace Walker, because that game was not popular to begin with (compared to the other releases in the series).

Also, there have been a lot of forgeries going around with Kojima's signature. I'm not saying that the other listings on Ebay aren't genuine, but there really isn't any way of knowing, other than taking the sellers by their word that they got their games signed on a particular date. With that said, I always provide documented proof of the signatures, whenever I sell signed games.

In any case, I am taking offers ;).

Oh cool. I guess I am underestimating it then.

I bet plenty are forgeries. I've heard estimates of sports signatures that around 75-90% in existence are forged. I'm sure non sports sigs are super high to.

No worries. I am willing to accept lower prices for this one, and I added a "Make Offer" feature to the Ebay listing.

In the past, I've seen some very pathetic attempts at copying Kojima's and Shinkawa's signature. But, a lot of scammers (again, I'm not accusing anyone in particular) could have gotten better, because there are countless pictures of signed items up on the Internet, that could be used as a basis to copy from. As a collector myself, I wouldn't even consider purchasing any kind of signed memorabilia unless I had a firm guarantee that it's legit.

But, yeah, non-sports sigs are worth a lot too! Besides MGS, I'm also a huge fan of DC Comics. A few months ago, I had my copy of Justice League # 1 signed by Jim Lee and Geoff Johns at Midtown Comics. It goes for a lot of money on Ebay, but I don't intend on reselling it :D.

I'm listing back the signed game for the last time, before taking it to private sales (Craig's List and other ad listings). It came to my attention that my listing isn't showing up on the "Best Match" section on Ebay with other signed items. So, besides the folks on CAG who have been visiting the page from the link that I provided, it hasn't been getting the attention that I was expecting.

I'm not in a dire rush to sell this. So, interested buyers should PM me on CAG, if they don't see it on Ebay.

Thanks for all of the support - it makes me proud to be a member of this forum! :D.

Re-listed on Ebay, with an auction-style listing this time. There's only one hour left until the auction ends and the item is sold! If any of you are interested, feel free to place your bids - now's your last chance. Updated link is on the opening post.
