I believe the coupons have unique skus on them, so you might not want to post yours. Might pop by mine on monday/sunday.

They certainly appear to. I wonder if you can use them 1 time per store or just 1 time overall.

They aren't unique. There are some that are, but these are not one of those.
I went to the HPB website to get the coupons and the set I got don't appear to be unique.

Thanks, I'll put these up instead.

My mind was sort of half and half when I posted since I was in the middle of writing a paper when I saw the email, lol. Duly noted. ^__^
wonder if these work for systems..i think i saw a ds lite for 50 be like 30
They work on any single item in the store.

I'm jealous of you guys who live near one of these stores. Damn, I wish I had one of these stores in my state.. or the next state over, or the next one, or the next one, or the next one, or the next one over. Which should I drive to? Pennsylvania or Texas? I can drive to either in about 20 hours if I don't stop anywhere except for gas.

they're very nice to have, but it's very feast-or-famine when it comes to games

it's been quite a while since I found something really cool gaming-wise since the employees are gamers too (so they buy stuff when people trade it in before it even gets to the store floor) and even if they sell it, they typically sell it at Amazon 3rd-party seller price anyways
There is a store in my town, but I dont have a printer!!!!!
Use your work printer or the library one.
There is a store in my town, but I dont have a printer!!!!!
If you go in and sign up for the mailing list in-store you can get the discount immediately. At least they allow that at the ones near me.
Never been to one of these stores before, what kind of stuff do they have exactly?
We have a few in Austin...the ones here sell a lot of books, a few movies, and a very small amount of video games. The OP is correct in his analysis of the game selection. It can be very good once in awhile, but most of the time is virtually non existent.

Cool I was going to see if they had any of the books I needed for the semester but might check out what they have for games.

I love Half Price Books, stop by there all the time to scope out new games and clearance games/books as well. I've snagged some good finds in the clearance section for $1-$3 because they will sometimes put a game there if it has a few light scratches which I can easily take out (or if the guy pricing the game simply doesn't know anything about it). There's one about 5 minutes from my work and one on the way to work so I hit up the one on the way this morning, the one near after work and stopped by the one on the way after work again.

The one on the way has a Skyrim Strategy Guide CE for $20. If it is still there Sunday I may end up getting that. They also had a black wireless 360 controller for $24.99, tempted by that as well.

Didn't figure it would last until Sunday so used the 40% off coupon on a Wii

Wii, 2 Remotes, 2 Nunchucks, Sensor Bar, & Charging Station for $45 was cheap enough for me to buy one for Xenoblade and a few others
My store had a Wii in stock too, as well as a couple PS2 slims and a GC. Was hoping for a PS1 though. T__T
Mine had a PS1, but it was behind the counter instead of the Software aisle

Might be worth checking there just in case

Yeah, they usually put all the systems in the back in their sorting area, but that's where I checked, so no dice. :*(

They actually have a pretty decent selection of PC games most of the time. New ones at cheap cheap prices. Console game selection usually is really hit or miss due to them being only trade ins and people being used to GS and stuff.

Closest store near me had nothing in terms of video games. Zilch. But had a quality selection of music.

Picked up a BB King 3 disc set for $4.50. Thanks OP.

Might try another store tomorrow afternoon.
Great deal for the 7 people who actually live near a HPB.:p
Funny cause, there are 7 stores in my area

EDIT: Oh, and ya, nothing at the only store I checked; ended up getting DDR on PSX for $1.60 and Arma: Combat Operations for $2.40

Just to remind everyone, the stores around me will hold things for 5 or 7 days, so I'm sure most of the other HPBs will do the same.

On the computer side of things here is some stuff I saw:

Crysis 2 Limited Edition $7
Mass Effect 2 $7
Alice - $10
NFS and Burnout Games - $5 to $7
Paradox Games (Hearts of Iron, Supreme Ruler, etc)
EA Games (Saboteur, Medal of Honor, etc)
Braid - $3
Super Meat Boy - $5
Drawn - $3

And tons more. Actually a lot of new PC stuff at a decent price. I got Ship Simulator Extreme for $4.20 after coupon and 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker.

Also had a 4 pack with Sam and Max Season 1, PainKiller, and two more games for $6.99 - pretty good deal IMO.
Picked up a like new copy of Dragon Quest 7 for PS, for $30.
I was wondering how long that copy would last. That was the east side, right?

Holding policies are YMMV. My store only holds it for 3 days, while another store I've been to holds it for a week, so definitely YMMV.

Both local stores for me are not doing holds at all during the sale (kind of how it should be to some extent).

Yeah, it's pretty hit or miss for holds during/before the coupon week. It is always worth asking tho'.

FYI Half Price BOok puts stuff on hold so if you find stuff a few days before they will hold it for you till the 50% off sale. I saw a copy of Spec Ops the Line for $30 making it $15 tomorrow. Not bad for a new release game.

I got them to hold a Wii on Monday. Said they'd hold it until Wednesday so atleast that store does holds during coupon weeks.

Might make a trip down to Ikea tomorrow so might stop by the HPB in Cincy while I'm down there just in case
