Best TV shows?

Costcosaurus

I just finished up what is left of Breaking Bad, and I'm going to be watching the new season of Community. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else to watch based on what I watch currently?

Categories are intense drama/action/comedy based on what I watch.

Based on the two shows you listed I doubt you'd like anything I like. Can't stand Community or Breaking Bad myself, soooo...
Sons of Anarchy, homeland, dexter,fringe
Agree with all of these except for Fringe. Sons of Anarchy had one lousy season when they were in Ireland, but this season is great so far. Dexter I am sure you have heard a lot about by now. I usually dont care for political/war shows but Homeland is also surprisingly good.

I would add on Modern Family. Yea, I know it is on ABC and mainstream loves it so it isnt cool to like, but it is really the funniest show on tv.

I'll add a vote to Game of Thrones, Dexter, Arrested Development & Justified.

I also submit Chuck(comedy/action/drama), New Girl(comedy/drama) & Spartacus(action/drama) for your consideration.

Anyway, we supposedly live in the silver or bronze age of television, with so many tv shows out there, you'd have to be stupid to not find one that you'll like. Just don't choose a CBS sitcom, you can do better.

How I Met Your Mother is on CBS I recommend that to anyone.

But that's the only CBS show I watch period.

The best shows are on HBO, showtime and AMC.

dexter, homeland, boardwalk empire, treme, the walking dead, mad men

I am currently watching The Wire and its really good.

As for comedies I like parks & rec, happy endings, I think the office has finally come back strong for its final go round.

If you are going to watch Dexter avoid the later seasons especially the newest one. That show has gone to crap. It's starting to resemble a soap opera. Seasons 1-4 are awesome especially 4, 5 wasn't bad, 6 was pretty boring and 7 hasn't started off any better.

To the person that doesn't like Breaking Bad above me... Heresy!

The last two seasons weren't strong but the general opinion from just about all the places that review the show says the new episodes have been great. I am in agreement.
I watched an episode of Law & Order SVU over the weekend. That is definitely not one of the best TV shows. LOL.
My wife loves this show. I have no idea why.

Its crap like
the feud between Dexter and the nerdy intern guy who's name I can't remember. He's pissed at him over a video game? Really?

The show went on way too long. Unlike Breaking Bad which realized that season 5 was the perfect time to end it. There's no reason to drag it out and kill the quality. Dexter is still a very high quality show. Don't get me wrong. But when you compare it to the first four seasons, the last 2 and 1/4 have been a massive let down. And they still have the rest of this season and another season to fill. I just don't see the need other than showtime milking it to death.

I will agree Showtime has let shows run a bit too long. Weeds should have ended in 6 seasons at the most (although they finished strong) and Californication has no business still being on. I think they will get better at it though, HBO has fine tuned their programming over a long time, Showtime is fairly new to it.

I finally caught up on Breaking Bad last weekend as well. Season 5 has been kinda a bummer though after shit hit fan in 4....

Been plowing through Sons of Anarchy, how the hell I've never watched this I have no idea. Great show!

My personal next watch list is Homeland and American Horror Story I keep hearing good things. Dexter and Weeds were good as well I am only a couple seasons in on each. Need to wrap those up to.

Community has gone downhill so freaking much i cant belive they keep bringing it back

I can't stand how I met ur mother. Saw one episode and was just annoyed by most of the characters. Maybe I should give it a couple shows but if I hate the main character it'll be hard to enjoy.

My favorites are prison break, 24, Dexter and breaking bad. Weeds is all right but not great.

I would cancel my cable and just use Hulu plus but for some reason, they only stream their FX shows on the computer and not through the Xbox. FX is my station for Wilfred, It's Always Sunny, Justified, American Horror Story and The League. I watch other shows like Castle, Grimm, Happy Endings, Walking Dead and Workaholics but FX has a lot of my fav shows.

Anything in HBO's backlog and you'll be good. They've easily produced the best TV in the last 20 years. I'd HIGHLY suggest The Wire and The Sopranos right off the bat if you haven't seen either yet. Both are intense drama/action. Curb Your Enthusiasm and Eastbound and Down if you want something funny. There's plenty of other shows that come to mind that fall into both categories, so it shouldn't be that hard for you to find some.

I'll throw in Grimm. Missed season 1 altogether when it aired so I've been marathon watching on dvd so I can start S2. Soooooooo good.

Other great shows worth mentioning:

Dead Like Me - drama/comedy
Wonderfalls - comedy
Supernatural - action/drama/comedy
