used games and the online snafu?

CAGiversary!
I am looking to use gamestops b2g1 his weekend, looking to get unit 13, SH:BOM and Lumines. My understanding is if you buy used games, you have no access to online (content/MP/whatever), is that true and to what extent does that apply? Does it apply to any of the three games above? And, if buying from GS, can I ask them to provide the online code? And finally, if buying used and there is a code inside the box, can I use that or is there something I need to know/ask before I can or cannot use it? thanks!

Of the ones you've listed, Lumines and Silent Hill: Book of Memories do not have online passes. Unit 13 does have an online pass and the code for it will be printed on the receipt upon purchase of the used copy. If there is an online pass code in the box and it works, it's yours to do with what you wish.

and thanks for the heads up on the code printed on the receipt, the guy at GS told me I would have to pay $30 for an online code, to which I said no. I threw the receipt in the trash when I got home, but re-read this thread and, just like you said, the online code was printed on the receipt, woot!
