Club Nintendo - lose coins after removing member from family account?

Hi, if I remove a member from my family account, will I lose all the coins that were obtained through that member? I am guessing that you get to keep the coins, otherwise people would just spend all the coins and then remove the account.

Though I couldn't confirm it, and I can assume that you keep the coins even after a family member is removed.  I may try that myself in the near future just to test it.
