Watching 24 again

I've been watching 24 again and now that Redemption is on Amazon, I'm watching Season 7.

Season 6 is awful. The season with Saunders was one of my favorite ones. It was the best written season and it had great characters. Just for the second half, though.

Just another general thought, the audio mixing is awful throughout all seasons. They need to fix it for the next season.

What are your thoughts?

Season 1 was the best cause the whole idea was fresh. Season 2 was also good. I think 3 had a couple awesome wow moments if I remember correctly. The show got stale and crazy at points (Kim in the bear trap?, convenient amnesia?) but later seasons still hS great characters and I thought everything after redemption was solid but not at the show's high point.

I dunno about the audio mixing. I watched it live basically, the early seasons on a 36" tube TV. I didn't have an HDTV with a good sound setup until the last three seasons or so when I bought my place, but I never noticed anything.

This show started when I was in college. They even delayed the start of the series like 2 months because of 9/11.

In any case, a groundbreaking show that was tough to keep up in quality. The good stuff still rocks.

I agree that the last two seasons were mostly solid. They didn't end far from where they started, unlike many seasons.

I think my least favorite season was the one with Jack's family. It just kept going back and forth trying to think of an actual conflict.

Well, the audio mixing isn't as obvious when you're watching it at a distance with high volume, but it's ridiculous when you're watching it on a small TV or on a mobile device. I didn't like it back when I watched it during original airings, but watching it again is horrible to my hearing. I can't hear the whispering well but I can't increase the volume because it's too much when there's music and they're right next to each other a lot.

I watched and enjoyed the whole series as it aired, but honestly most of it blends together for me.
Yeah. I think it's because it just goes on so many tangents that our brains don't even bother to organize them anymore.
