Destiny $49.99 for PS4 and XB1

CAGiversary!
Hey guys.

Rakuten has Xbox 1 and PS$ versions of Destiny for 49.99 right now.  I know Best Buy price matches and Newegg might.  They have for me before.  Might stack with the GCU discount for those with it.  Dell will if you bitch about it.  I got them too with the huge Assassins Creed Unity disaster.

I can't post a link since I am new here but go over to Rakuten and take a look

I jumped on it when it was $30 at Brandsmart. I kind of don't like the game....please don't hurt me for it.
I might bite eventually due to my love for Bungie, but people keep saying it's like Borderlands, only prettier and more boring/repetitive. I didn't even like Borderlands that much. Beautiful graphics aren't everything, KZ Shadowfall and Destiny are prime examples of this.

This game is crack. Buy it and thank me later.
This. When I"m not playing Destiny, I'm thinking about what I want to be doing next to level up my character, to complete my next bounty, etc. Someone needs to start a Destiny Anonymous group...

thought the game was mediocre at best already dumped my 30 dollar brandsmart pm and am glad I did
Its a game built on post cap levels. IE grinding and raids. It's an early World of Warcraft with a dumbed down missions list and a lessened class specification breakdown (ie you don't have a true healer/tank/dps) but adds solid FPS gameplay.

That being said it feels more like a niche game than the groundbreaking game it was hyped to be.

Is it enjoyable if I play with only another person, and never interact with other strangers?
It....should be if your expectations are where the game is. I know they want the game to be a social kind of thing...but currently it isn't. You can pretty much do almost everything on your own; having a partner will make the game easier. I suppose YMMV?

Yes. Like I said it is new of a niche game so you either seem to love it or consider it mediocre. Just remember its built on loot you get post level cap. Meaning grinding strikes/raids or mobs for gear. The story is mediocre but the gameplay is very good throughout. I think about 12-16 hours if you do all missions.

The pvp is done well (as it is a bungie game).

So if that sounds fun

I know when I talked to Best Buy over chat they said they price match.  Don't think they will in store.  I would have gotten it from them but with all the gift cards Dell gave me for their Assassins Creed screw up I ended up getting it free from them.

Game is super addicting so if you need a fix, it's definitely worth it. However, it isn't fulfilling at all. It's just a reward grinder in the shape of a Bungie shooter. Some people get really into that sort of thing, though.

Its my Destiny not to play this game.

I'll wait for Destiny 4 GOTY.

Or Black Friday.

Or whenever it becomes a PSN freebie.

sure it didn't blow my tits off but it's a fun game. I'm level 20 right now with random play since release. strikes are what I'm enjoying the most right now, even without a headset and playing with randoms.

For everyone waiting on GOTY edition, this game may not actually have one. It's a constantly updating game like WoW, so there might not be a time when everything is sold in one package as an edition.

$50 is a deal? I was seeing it on eBay for $51 from multiple people with free shipping before release when I was considering a potential flip...

I'll wait for the GOTY in two months or so.
Considering GOTY editions usually encompass the entirety of the content for a game, I don't think, even if this got one, that it would be available in two months. I'd give it a year minimum for a GOTY edition for a game, but like the other guy said, this more than likely wouldn't get one. If it was an offline single-player game, yeah, it would, but it's not.

Well, maybe an "ultimate edition," because this is no game of the year.
