Naruto GC and GBA coming to the US
And there was MUCH rejoicing.
by David Karlin, 10/14/2005

Recently, when the Playstation 2 game, Naruto: Narutamite Hero was announced for a US release, quite a few people were happy. Some were ecstatic that they were getting any of the Japanese made Naruto games, yet others cried "The GC series is better! Bring those over as well!" Well...those people should be pleased now, as Japanese publisher Tomy, responding to the demand from fans, is releasing the GC and GBA games in America together with D3 Publisher of America.

As to which ones we'll be getting, the GC fighting game will be the first entry in the Naruto fighting series that's approaching the number four in Japan. The US title for the game will be Naruto: Clash of Ninja and it'll be landing in US during 2006 --most likely, the early half. But before the GC game is released, the first of the popular GBA side-scrolling action games will appear in the west under the title of Naruto: Ninja Council. Following the release of these two, Tomy is planning on bringing out two more titles by the end of the year: one being for GC and one being for GBA Hmm...I wonder if they could be the sequels....

With the PS2, GC, and GBA Naruto games all covered for US releases now, anime and manga fans have nothing to worry about besides the emptying of their wallets
I don't need to be hearing "believe it" while i'm trying to kicks some ass. I'll stick with the imports.
well being a cheap ass gamer, I am not as willing to pay for a freeloader and the import game than a poorly dubbed game

Why does Naruto get all the love and One Piece is left in the cold?

And Toynami picked up the toy license for Naruto, so it's a good week for Naruto fans.

I'm pretty sure there was a recently released One Piece game for both the GC and PS2.

And there is still another that may or may not come out.

We have to wait until the US series gets to the storylines that the games cover, otherwise it'll spoil shit for people. I probably won't get this since this is just the inferior version of 3/4.

4 covers the entire series up to the start of the filler, correct? Glad I'm importing, that's a long ass wait.

I don't know. I think it just covers the whole return Sasuke to Konaha arc that is after the 3 Legendary Sanin fight occurs, but since there's been literally no translation of all that Japanese that the pics come with, I have no fucking clue.
I think it ends with demon naruto/cursed sasuke fight
Well there's not much between that and the end of part one ... I wonder how they're going to handle GNT5. I doubt we'll have seen most of the characters post-timeskip ... :whistle2:k

well we have only really seen 3 new characters in action, but several characters have some new moves. Though we might see a new character or two fighting in a couple weeks....crosses fingers.

Yeah, but GNT goes by the anime right? So a year from now, how far along will it be? They'll probably just add the post-skip versions to the existing roster. Though even of the characters we've seen at this point we've only seen a few in action.

well 3 was released Nov 2004, and 4 is bein released Nov 2005, so hopefully by Nov 2006 they will be out of the filler and have a plethera of new characters

or they coudl do what they did with One piece grand battle and cut out characters that hasnt show up yet.

is the game dialogue heavy? if not i hope they just leave the original audio track for the game like they do for some games. i've been avoiding the toonami showing of naruto since i've watched it with it's original audio a long time ago and just recently decided to catch up on episodes. i just prefer anime in their original dub, it just goes a lot better, however cowboy bebop is probably the only exception to that.

It is for the mission mode, which is the story mode, but for in game, it is somewhat. Characters talk before, during moves and specials, and afterwards. It'd most likely be redone with the vioce cast of the dubs.

You know I've never seen a translation of that stuff. Of course I know some of it just from hearing it before but I'd like to see a full script someday. You know, if anyone might have a link for that sort of thing.
it would be amazin if you could choose english or japanese
Hopefully they'll be able to cram all the audio in there as they'll hafta cover 2 sets of voice instead of one unless they leave the english for the storyline and leave the japanese for the moves themselves.

Check out GameFAQs, as there's translations of what they're saying then tells you what you need to do to pass for each difficulty. I might try out the harder difficulties before the game comes out to see if I can beat the even more rediculous goals.

I'm just talking about the pre-fight stuff. I've already completely completed the game. (and currently have 300k+ with nothing left to spend it on ) The missions are fairly easy to figure out from context alone.

That's what I'm talking about, too. They have translations of the dialog before and after matches. Check it out.

Here's some "new" pics of the game in action, though it's nothing new for those of us that have played the sequels. Check out this little article for more on the game itself, though it's more about the japanese version, which is only a little different from the US version.

I may get the US version just because I'm a fan, but only when it drops to $20 or so. Since the sequels are much more than this game is, there's not much reason to pay near full price.
