The Good:
Satisfying, smart combat that can be enjoyably unpredictable; Environments bust up real good; Stretches out a two-hour movie into a well-written, entertaining 12-hour game; Many of the original actors reprise their roles, and the soundtrack and audio are excellent; Plenty of extra modes, including unlockable games and co-op multiplayer.

The Bad:
Core graphics aren't very attractive; Co-op play isn't exactly remarkable, just serviceable; A few extremely frustrating sequences.

That's IGN, fool. Nobody listens to them anymore.

I think they gave Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure, like, a 12.3.

I know, I thought we were supposed to have one thread per review or something. Or maybe I really thought it was Gamespot and i'm trying to cover my ass.

IGN>>>>>Gamespot

Gamespot has some of the most random review scores I've ever seen and always seem intent at scoring games lower than IGN. Plus, their site design and overall content just blow ass.

IGN has too much content for me to handle. Comics, Movies, DVDs ... damn I just want to read up on some games! I perfer Gamespot because while their website design is poor they got alot more video game content. (I'm just a sucker for Video Reviews)

I just had to use a Billy Madison quoe today. But i'm with you there. Video is much better.

I don't mind the IGN video reviews when they are available.. if nothing else, they show game footage for about 6 minutes of play...

they did a video of guitar hero with two of their guys playing sabbath... I will let you all make your own comments on that...

I picked it up for PS2 (figured the controls would be better for a beat em up). It's definitely very fun. The only complaint I have is the fact that the camera can be kinda hard to handle when the action really picks up.

I never hadmuch interest in this game, but I figured it'd atleast be decent since Rockstar put it out. At 12 hours, it seems that it'd make a good rental, especially since I *heart* beat-em-ups.

This is in my top ten games of the year.

By the way, watch the GameSpot review to see the unlockable sidescroller you can unlock. The intro to it made me smile.

I was right when I said many months ago that Rockstar would totally take the brawler genre and make it something awesome again.

Namco and Capcom (Urban Reign and Beat Down, respectively) ought to be ashamed.

Very fun game....I think this is the first R* game I've enjoyed. Mad props to them for bringing a fairly obscure movie to the gaming scene. I hope more companies follow suit.

My only complaints are about the awful character models-- they look really strange, like the toxic avenger or something-- and the camera is a bit off. great stuff though.

You are a sad, sad man.

I beat it and the sidescroller. The sidescroller was the best part of the game, hands down.

'kay lil wayne-- let's see.....oh, I'm wrong, I've enjoyed the first 5 hours of all the GTA games (including the 2-d ones.) I thought the first level of manhunt was kinda fun too. I'll actually finish the Warriors though. this sidescroller part sounds interesting...

see, once you get out of highschool, it's okay to be a nerd. you'll find that most adults are "nerdy" about something. but you won't have to worry about that until after you sprout a couple and lose your v-card ;-)

You think it's ok that you a nerd cause there's no one around to make fun of you. But you're WRONG! I'M here.

lol, your knee highs.

EDIT: If you want to get the side scroller you have to beat all the flashback missions.

Co-op "just serviceable"??? WTF? That's the reason I bought the game, the only way I've played it so far, and I'm loving it. One of the best co-op games in a while (I'm enjoying it more than I did MK:Shaolin Monks).

I think them saying co-op was serviceable was right on the money. The way the screen splits when you characters are too far apart or uses the whole screen when you are close together does not work very well and can be very disorienting when it switches. The camera is also questionable in this mode.

The game seems to play much better in single player mode, but as a co-op game, I highly prefer Shaolin Monks over The Warriors. I'm actually surprised that The Warriors consistently got high scores in reviews.
