XBox Wireless Controller Vs. Windows. FIGHT!

im surprised i couldnt find this already somewhere on the board, so feel free to shoot me down if i just happened to miss it.

Has anyone got the wireless xbox controller to work with Windows? i have the play n' charge kit, so in THEORY its running in "wired" mode when i hook it up to the PC, but damned if i can get it recognized, even with the MS software installed. Me thinks that MS is only offering window support for factory wired, so im just a little disapointed that my "play n charge" idea didnt work out...

the play & charge kit only charges the controller. You still play wirelessly.

so the wire's sole purpose is to provide a charge? i suppose from a hardware point of view thats easier to design than something that switches from wired to wireless, but from a functionality point of view thats jerk-faced. oh well, thanks man.
