Eyetoy: Kinetic w/ Camera $29.99 at Best Buy (B&M only?)

Mr Peanut

CAGiversary!
I did a price check on the Eyetoy Kinetic bundle in BB and it scanned at $29.99. Plus, I used the $10 off coupon which made the deal even sweeter at $19.99. Every other place seems to have it at $49.99 (just like the Eyetoy Play 2 bundles). The price online is $28.49, but the description states that the Eyetoy is sold separately. As far as I know, this game is only sold in bundles. I'd just go check it out B&M just to be sure.

I played a little and this game makes great use of the eyetoy. Workouts get pretty intense and give me a good sweat when I'm done. The reviews have been pretty good too, as IGN gave it an 8.0. Gamerankings also shows that it has the average rating of 82%.

Just a word of advice, you need good lighting and lots of room to move around when you play.

I checked online and it had this in the product features...

"Utilizes the EyeToy (sold separately), an exclusive motion-capture technology that provides a simple and fun way to interact with games, friends and more"

May just be a B&M thing.

Yeah, it could be a B&M thing. I don't think that this game is sold without the camera though (I could be wrong).

Anyway, I edited my post to show this. Thanks.

I picked this up for $20 ($30 - $10 coupon) today also. It was on my gf's xmas list so I was going to buy it anyway, so I was pleasantly surprised when it rang up for $29.99. :)

Confirmed, even has a $29.99 price sticker on the front WITH camera. With the $10 coupon, you can't beat this deal. $49.99 @ EB. Comes with a silver Eyetoy (perfect to blend with my TV). $20 is about what a used Eyetoy sells for, so I'm very happy.

Damn i thought this was that game where you ride that board which you play with your eye toy. Eh i am not interested in this game but if you find that on sale please post it :D

Can you post the BB item sku that is listed on your receipt when you bought this in-store? If we can have this we can then see if what you bought matches up to the item that they have listed online for the cheaper price as well.

In the URL that you listed it's the part that's marked "skuId=7315504." If that matches what your receipt says, then it's the same thing that they have marked online and it should include the camera if you do in-store pickup on it.
Are there any upper body workouts? Im short on room so i cant really lay down and do yoga.
It looks like there is a combat system on the box. I'm making this my morning routine starting tomorrow, I'll detail after that.

Thanks.

Just finished my first workout this morning, and it kicked my ass. But it is probably the best thing I've bought ever, game wise. It actually made the workout fun, which is something it hasn't been in ages.

(I haven't worked out at all in at least 3 months)

Here's the routine:
-Warm ups, which consist of following your on-screen PT through stretches and small excercises (nothing too hard)
-Combat (the most fun part) - you have to hit the blue orbs as they fall down the screen, avoiding the red ones. This is mostly an upper body workout with the arms
-Combat pt 2 - hit the pads before they rotate in on you and the circle you are protecting. Harder you hit, more points. Multiple short hits work really well too.
-Excercises (the part that rocked me) - today it was Abs. Crunches of every type you could imagine
-Stretches - really good stretches here. Actually worked.

This was just my routine, others could vary. I will say that I will most likely stick to the routine (12 week program), and you might even see me in the testimonials part of the product website!

The only thing that you need is a large space. In an apartment, it's kind of difficult to get the space you need, hence I'm a little closer to the TV than I would like. Also, the first time through a excercise or stretch, you'll need to watch what the PT is doing to follow. Can be a little difficult depending on position.

Verdict? 9.0/10 on a short review.

I might as well post some of my impressions of this:

This has to be one of the best uses of the eyetoy I've come across.

The game lets you go though a 12 week program, in which different types of workouts are assigned to each day thoughout the week. You have a virtual personal trainer to lead you through the stretches and excercises so you can see yourself on the TV compared to how the trainer is doing it. This is great so that you know that your form is right. After your stretches, you do some pretty intense workouts involving the eyetoy. As you progress, the difficulty increases as you do better throughout the 12 week program. The increased difficulty makes it so your workouts (divided into cardio, combat, mind & body, toning) keep you with a good sweat when you're done (in my case, I'm sweating and panting like a dog). The combat and cardio are a blast to play, and keep you moving around continuously for a set time limit which makes up a nice and satisfying workout. There is also a progress chart and calorie burned indicator to see how you've been doing thoughout the program.

Today's routine went like this:
-stretches
-cardio workout
-mind & body workout
-ab exercises (oh man, this was a killer workout)
-end stretches
-----------
totaling time around 25-35 minutes altogether.

I can really see myself getting toned and in much better shape by following this 12 week program. Workouts are fun, varied, and intense. I definitely recommend this game for those who want to get in shape or in better shape. Make sure you have a good amount of room for this game and some good lighting before you purchase though. Included is a wide angle lens, which allows more movement invloving your whole body for the workouts.

Thanks! I picked one up. Won't have the chance to try it out but have wanted an Eyetoy. If the "game" is as useful as everyone here is indicating, that would be a great bonus!

I forgot to look for more of the Xbox 360 DVDs though. I just used a leftover GGC that will be expiring soon...

Just picked up one. There was a stack of about 20 of them on the floor under the normal game displays. It rang up at $29.99. I presented the 10 off 29.99 code and it didn't scan so she just entered it in manually.

$21 out the door. Very nice for a USB Camera and the Kinetics game.

I got a demo from PS Underground but I haven't tried it, but I haven't seen the game seperately anyone know how much it is? And they had tons of them at the Best Buy I checked out.

THANK YOU MR. PEANUT!

So glad you told us about this because "Kinetic" sounds like a useful "game". Picked up two of these....one for me and one as a Christmas gift. Used the $10 off coupon and got them both for $20 each!

Life is sweet...

Picked up the last one at BB by me and got it for $20 because of the $10 off any $29.99 game coupon.

I thought it was just going to be the game but its the bundle one with the eyetoy. Score!!! :D

Picked one up as a gift. Can anyone recommend any other eyetoy games worth picking up? Antigrav was the only other one I was considering.

I rather like Sega Superstars.

Got one for $20 today. But it was an adventure. They didn't have any in stock and I forgot what the name was... (I wasn't actually planning on going, but I was in an area near a Best Buy so I figured I'd stop by). So I went to the computer section and went on CAG to figure it out. Took a minute or two but I got the name and proceeded to go to the bestbuy.com website to check if the store had any in stock (I checked for the game first and didn't find anything that looked like it, so I didn't think they had any in stock) and they did... But right when I saw that it was indeed in stock, some kid comes up to me and says I can't use the computer for 'internet purposes'. I said 'Well, it's cool I already found what I needed.' So I went over the the games section and asked if they had any. The guy checked the rack and said he'll go to the back to see if they have any. At this time I see a sticker for the game. The price tag. It was on that shelf right underneath all the games. It said 29.99 which is cool because the game rang up $49.99. I handed the girl the coupon and asked if I could use it. She replied with a question of her own, 'Do you have RewardZone?' I didn't... but allow me to get to the point. She said my total was 41.99 or something? I said...' the game is $29.99 I thought?' And of course she got her manager who asked me where I found that. I showed her the price tag on the shelf and she removed it... So I got it for $29.99. But what about my coupon? She told me the total was 31.49 or something and I asked about the coupon. This is the dialog that followed:

'Oh it didn't take it off?' - her
'Well... 30... minus 10 is 20.' - me
...(looks at me funny)...'Well I know that. - her
...(looking back at her funny)... - me

So she got her manager and I got my game for 20.99.

Btw, in case anyone is wondering... yes, this version of the camera does work with the old hacked driver versions.
Hmm... so I take it that this sale is over?
Depends on whether or not you can find price tags.
