Link's Sword Beam worse over time?

I just realized one of the things I love so much about the original Zelda is the badass full heart meter sword beam. Then I'm thinking of all the Zelda games since then...and none of them have that same sword effect. Zelda II has a really lame one and LTTP has a beam but its kind of lame compared to the original. I think the 3D Zeldas would benefit from the badass sword beam too. Thoughts?

Maybe as they increase the badassery of his other equipment/methods, the beam has to come down if only in relativity.

good point i never even thought about that. i dont know if it would translate to 3d well but its cool in theory.

I'm not super up on my nerd trivia, but doesn't OoT and Majora's Mask take place before the original 3 so maybe he didn't have beam sword powers then?

They should make it a power-up/item a while after you get the bow and arrows...that would be fun
