hey everyone today i let my 5 year old brother play my psp and he was hooked right away. hes always in the car because my mom is always on the go so i thouhgt it would be nice for him to have a psp to play all the old classics on since he loves tem and movies also. so im looking for a psp with firmware 2.0 or lower and looking for one in good condition. ill buy a package with guys also to maybe if the price is good. so anyone got one for cheap? thanks

PSP's are really delicate
I think a DS would be better for a 5 year old.
(this coming from a PSP fanboy who usually loves games targeted towards kids)

I wouldn't drop the cash on a PSP for a 5 year old, but that's really your choice.

I'd think that there is too much of a chance that it will get damaged, dropped or worse in the permanent care of a five year old. I'd think that a GBA would be a better choice, since when it get busted up in the first two weeks, you won't be out that much cash.

At any rate, good luck.

PS Buy a new one, so that you can get an extended warantee with it. I think that you'll need it.

Yes, I wouldn't be spending that much on a five year old either.

Get him a SP or GBC not a DS or PSP. He'll break it right away anyway because one he loses interest or gets frustrated playing a game, it'll get broken. 5 year olds don't have a concept of money so they don't care about breaking things.

It's just an overall bad idea.

got a psp w/ a 2 year warantee and 74 psp movies want 1,500shipped

I dont have a PSP anymore(Sold it to a friend) but I just wanted to praise those who are "concerned" about the handling of this device by a 5 year old and shared their opinions about this. Still, hope you can find one, warranty would be nice. Buy that logitech case too, i'll grab ya a link.

Logitech PlayGear Pocket

PSP "Max Power"(Extra Battery)

Just thought having another battery would help anyone and everyone. The PlayGear Pocket is awesome as long as he doesnt tear it up.

I don't know. When I was five, I definitely understood the value of money. In fact, I was probably cheaper then than now. And I also was very careful around fragile things. The only thing I think I ever broke was a window (was throwing a ball against a wall and missed once). I remember crying for hours and offering to pay for the window out of my brithday money.

My point is that it's not necessarily true that kids don't value money or property. On the other hand, if the kid is extremely conscientious and something does happen to the PSP, he could be devastated.

I agree. I was also careful with my items but many 5yr olds are immature and don't really value anything enough to take good care of it even if it costs a good sum of money. I saw he buys it if he finds his brother's care of items to be good.

I can't believe we are discussing the maturity of 5 year olds. They are ALL immature and not responsible enough to own a PSP because, um... they are only 5 years old!! Show me the most careful 5 year old in the world and I guarantee the PSP is broken or lost inside a week.

When I first glanced at this thread title, I read it wrong. I thought it said...
