I didn't see this already posted, so forgive me if this is a repeat. I just went to Brady's site (www.bradygames.com) to see if they had made a Tales of Legendia guide and I noticed that they're running a free shipping sale right now. Since most of their guides are 15-25% anyway, that's a pretty good deal. Here's some upcoming guides that stood out to me:

Tales of Legendia - $11.99
Grandia III - $11.99
World of Warcraft Penny Arcade Binder - $7.49
Metal Gear Solid III: Subsistence - $13.59

This is good on current guides as well tho. This is not a bad deal - Tales, for example, lists for $15.99. Even after EB/GS's 20% off for buying it with the game it comes to $12.79, and that's before tax (which for me would bring the total to $14.07). So it's a couple of bucks, but every bit counts! ;)

word it's pretty easy, someone posted it awhile back here but the discounts have been cut. I wish I could get these for like 5 bucks like I did with all the other strat guides I ordered. You basically just juggle between informit website and brady games website with stuff in your cart to get a little bit more of a discount.

Its $9.59 each for those two guides on the bradygames site if you do the informit and bradygame site switch trick.
 
Gotta love this trick. Got the guides you guys mentioned and got the Suikoden V guide too for 50 total. Saved me round 30 (2guides worth) great deal.
 
It shows both grandia III and tales of legendia as only being 128 pages. I don't like buying rpg strategy guides if they are tiny.
 
thanks for the suikoden V tip...i didn't even think to look for it...i can't place an order yet because if i place more than one order on my paypal credit card, it freezes up on me...don't ask why...they'll call me if i do and ask if i was aware of "so many" transactions being made on my card in one day...i just laugh at them
 
How exactly does the PA WoW guide work? Does the binder entitle you to the updates, or are they all sold separately (& if so, how much)?

I tried looking at the Bradygames site, but I'm not going to register just to find out it's not worth paying for.

The binder will have a code in it that will allow you to d/l the updates. Honestly tho, I don't even really play WoW anymore and I want the binder just for the PA artwork. I'm sure I can find another use for it anyway. :)
 
Link you? The steps were listed right up above in a previous post?

Go to brady games website, use the drop down for informit website, find the guides, add them to car, go back to brady games, checkout.

My question is if you still have to buy 3 guides to get a larger discount? Anyone know?

i agree. i decided to get radiata stories, suikoden V and kingdom hearts 2 LE instead :)

I had 2 guides in my informit cart, but when I got back to the Brady site, there was no discount. Full price.
 
While looking at Buy.com's Kingdom Hearts II price (since I have $10 in credit there from the $0.99 game fuck-up), I found out there is KH manga! That's crazy kick ass! ^__^

On a related note, this thread is tempting me to buy some guides for upcoming games...but...must...resist....

You have to sign up on bradygames.com

You also have to purchase 3 strategy guides. If you just want one you can add the guide for Brave Fencer Musashi X2 because they don't have it in stock and after you're order has shipped you can cancel it. I ordered that and Shadow Hearts months ago and they still aren't stocked so chances are they will never be back in stock.

I only get RPG strat guides because they are a lot easier than scrolling down a huge page of a FAQ on gamefaqs. It's nice that it's free but it's a pain in the ass. If I can get a decent price on strategy guides it's worth it for the convenience. Plus after I beat the game I just sell it anyways and end up only paying 2-3 bucks for a strategy guide. Not bad if you ask me.

Wow, that is really very small. I wonder if that is some kind of a mistake? Unless both games are pretty straight forward and don't even need a guide.

They are much more useful then any $120+ college text I have bought so far in 5.5 years.

So, $15 or less is a steal for a good book that is useful and I actually take the time to read (hell, even open). The thick glossy paper and sexy art is bonus!
 
Just placed an order tonight for FFIX, Brave Fencer, and FF : Chronicles - only expecting to get FFIX, but wanted to get the 40% obviously.

i preordered the suikoden V and kingdom hearts 2 guides and they each show up as 304 pages and 224 pages. i hope you're right though b/c a 128 page guide for an rpg game is pretty sad :lol:

man that sucks. I heard Grandia III was going to be a lengthy game. I think I'm gonna preorder tales of legendia and if it comes with more than 128 I'll go ahead and order Grandia III.

I had pre-ordered my KH II LE guide on March 5th. The site said it was supposed to be released today. I go to Bradygames.com and it now shows that this guide "is not available for sale". Quite the mystery!!!

n/m. i was at a gamestop yesterday and checked the length of the guide myself hehe. iirc, it is over 200 pages which means the bradygames site is off on the page numbers. :lol:
