Thought I'd get the blood boiling for diehard SONY supporters due to the news on a November 06' release. :rofl: If you've read any of my posts in reguards to system loyalty then you know I have none. This is all in good fun and I will be getting my own PS3 this fall. Also if you can't wait until November 06' I heard new shipments of 360's are arriving all over the country.:)
 
i never expected the ps3 to even come out this year so i could care less... im waiting to catch a 360 .....

besides sony launch track record is probably worse then microsofts.. i would prob wait a bit before jumping on a ps3..not to mention i wish i knew how muc it would cost..

ive waited this long for a 360 and now good games are coming
 
I really love what Sony is doing - 60 GB HD, free live-ish service, downloadable older games, blu-ray player, simultaneous worldwide launch. They're going totally balls to the wall - they're either going to totally own everything or go out in a blaze of glory.

As far as I'm aware, the free live-ish service is basically rumored, the downloadable older games is basically rumored and the Blu-Ray player may well be their undoing according to multiple industry sources.

I'm planning on getting a PS3.. but don't buy into the Sony hype machine for the third time around.
 
Well, they said the basic online service will be free. I think it'll probably end up about the same as Live. 'Silver' is basic (free), 'Gold' is premium (pay). If I was a person deadset on getting the PS3 on launch, I'd be more worried about devs not getting final hardware until July. If you thought the 360 launch line up was bad, get ready for it to happen again.
 
... not sure why it sucks to be a fan of Sony. There was never any chance of a springtime launch in the US. Historically speaking, consoles have launched about 6 months earlier in Japan than they have in the US. Along with this, US launches usually occure in Q4 to bring in the big Christmas sales.

Again, not sure why this is a surprise to anyone.
 
Yeah, and while I'm not a Sony "fanboy", my last two consoles have been Sony. Are they the be-all, end-all of console makers? No. They can certainly do wrong just like any other company can.
But it's a great time to be a Sony fan, imho--I'm replaying FFX-2, playing Dragon Quest VIII, Jak X, Suikoden Tactics, Lego Star Wars, my boy plays the Dora game; I haven't even opened SH: Covenant yet. All but two of those are Sony-exclusives--I'm fine with a delay, especially since the Spring release was only 'rumored' as wel, IIRC.
 
November 06 release doesnt affect me at all. With all the awesome PS2 games still coming out, I think I can wait. Besides, November is just more time for me to save money. Whoknows, maybe there will actually be GOOD launch games come release.

Ha, I actually got bashed by fanboys when I posted PS3 would come out by next year or end of year 2006 and that the games will be Blu-Ray and more expensive....but now everyone is like "oh I knew it wouldnt be here spring-time" and not one word about how all games are gonna be blu-ray....and they will be more expensive considering that 360 games arent Blu-ray and they are at 60 bucks each...I bet PS3 games will be $70 each or higher.....this thing is 3DO.....i swear...watch the "Blaze or Glory" that is PS3 as they go out guns firing as they fall. If they sell this baddy cheap is the only way to suceed.....but that aint happening, i like they dont say if the HD is included but its now needed for the system to work at 100%....and i bet the free online service lets Net-Zero high speed dail-up host servers...abhabhba....no way.....I may get one to own one, but this thing keeps looking worse....hopefully for Sony they will have something AMAZING to say at E3 to restore some confidence in NON fanboys looking to purchase the PS3.....if it does fail, Sony will turn into sega and Nintendo will smile as they hang on yet again with perhaps MARIO part 26682365623569 and MS will suceed into hurting its competition by undercutting prices to get their product out there and hook people with its merchandise....craziness....just crazy
 
If I had my way, I would buy both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 unless one system has too few good games. So I'm not fanboy per se. I go where the good games are ....

its nice that you try and disguise your idiotic topic by saying "it's all in good fun". Why can't you just make a normal informative topic about the new launch date?

anyway, I never really thought that they would make the spring launch (especially in the US). No loss for me. I wasn't planning on getting the PS3 until MGS4 hit which probably won't be until 2007. It still is a great time to be a sony fan though. Out of all my current gen systems, PS2 looks the most promising this year. Aside from Zelda, all my purchases for this year will be for PS2. Just bought MGS3: subsistence, willl be getting: Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy XII, God of War 2, Okami so far.
 
I honestly don't think anyone will take this as a serious shock... I never had any faith in Sony actually launching by Spring.
 
dpatel and ddhex27, you need to develop a sense of humor. There are enough "informative boards focusing on the launch. Also this site IMHO is a place to have fun and enjoy yourself. Unlike some posts and threads I come across, I did not attack the fanboys, but I'm guessing from your responses you lean towards SONY. Elements of my thread come off somewhat childish, but not in its entirity

How am I disguising my topic by saying this? I clearly stated my intent and it was in a comical sense; note the use of emotion inserts. If you misinterpreted it or read to much into it that is on you. Maybe if in the thread title I added a "smiley face" or "the rolling laughing head" you wouldn't have taken the thread so seriously. I'll say it again, if you want informative there are plenty of threads here and on the internet, so you don't have to waste your time here. Thanks:)
 
Wait! There was a delay until November 2006? I thought that's what was planned the whole time? I didn't expect it any other time.

I still can't find a single Xbox game I have any interest in even trying let alone Xbox 360 with its enormous library.

I'm in no rush for a new console as I have a nice backlog of kick ass games just waiting to be played. The only console that is not released that I am excited about is Revolution, but can live with waiting a long time because I think the Gamecube is one of the best systems of all time.

Skeptical that there isn't a single Xbox game you want to try. (Unless you already own/have owned an Xbox and have played most of the good exclusives.)

I would agree that there isn't much on the Xbox worth playing that isn't also on the PS2 (and if you have a decent PC the list gets even shorter) but not having enough to justify a console purchase is a far cry from not having a single exclusive game that looks any good.

Fine, Toejam and Earl. That is the only game and only because I have fond memories of playing it on Sega Genesis.

Otherwise, nothing at all has my interest.
 
Well, Sony fanboys shouldn't feel too bad about the PS3 launch delay, since there are more than enough PS2 games coming out in the upcoming months to tide them over until November.
 
For me there are certainly games that look 'worth playing' on both Xbox and 360 [although 360's launch titles were mostly lackluster, imho].
But it's a question of time and resources--do I want to spend the money right now on another console and the games or game rentals to enjoy it, or spend that money elsewhere? And do I have the time? Considering only electronics, half my dvd collection is unwatched, and I'm working on about 6 PS2 games, not to mention, there's real life to contend with.
If you're multiconsole, great. I never have been, I generally chose one and committed to it for at least a couple years. NES, SNES, Gen, 32x, CD, Saturn, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2.....????....Only the future will tell......

I really dislike FPS, most western style RPGs, and sports. I do like some of its racers and a few exclusive games here and there, but that's about it. Mostly, I'm into Japanese style games, like RPGs. Most of my favorite genres, PS2 does very well at. Also, SCEA is my favorite 1st party publisher, by a good margin.

I'll second that.

I can't stand first person shooters. I hated Goldeneye. Hated with a passion. My friends thought I was nuts. Those same friends now use the word Xbox to represent video games like Kleenex is used to represent, well, a Kleenex.

I waited in line for Xbox with a friend for over 8 hours. He currently has one game and has the entire time he has owned the system: Panzer Dragoon.

And only because I bought it for him as a birthday present. He does not pirate any games or download them as an alternative either. In the last few months he modded it and put XBMC on it to watch movies in his room. He still only has that one game, he doesn't even rent anymore.

So, I'm not the only one who has almost zero interest in any Xbox game, believe it. And he has not even mentioned Xbox 360 to me at all.
 
On the contrary, I love First Person Shooters. That being said, PC > Xbox. The shooters on the Xbox are just ridiculous, not sure how anyone can even play an FPS on a console.

Also, any of the interesting xbox games just come out for PC anyway. (Think KOTOR games, GRAW, Blazing Angels, etc.)

I'd have to agree with the FPS comment. At first, I thought that it was just the controls that I didn't like about console FPS games... then I realized that it was the games themselves -- console FPSes are really, really weak in general... there's typically absolutely no complexity to them whatsoever and the AI is usually stupid... they all feel bland and generic with very few exceptions.

Nowhere in my OP did I elude to the system hitting the market in Spring 06, you just assumed this due to my comment confirming the Nov 06' launch. Now because systems hit markets during certain time periods gamers like yourself think you know the exact launch month of a companies product. I'll be sure to put you on my buddy list so I can contact you about the PS4 launch... Oh What's that! You already know. Everyone from your minute ass up to the Corporate people can only assume a launch period. No one knows until it is officially released, so take your fucking SONY 8-Ball and preach your BS elsewhere. Personally i think Sony has a real problem, if they have to delay the console. Besides candies for the mind (onlineplay) it occurs to me, that the console might be delayed because of copyrightprotection issues and blueray. Unless you a diehard fan of Sony, you may already forgiven Sony for their rootkit.
I would not be supprised, if we see another delay.
I look forward for Nintendos console, in hope their stick to the timetable.

My Xbox broke almost two years ago... I never once felt the need to ever replace my Xbox. The games I really liked on Xbox or haven't yet tried, I replaced on PS2 (Metal Arms, Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance) for extremely cheap, and sold the Xbox one to break even (or hell, even make more money).

Sure, I'd love to play Ninja Gaiden, but is it worth $150 for me? Not really. I played most of the Xbox exclusives, and I really found them lacking, and like you said, if you own a PC the list gets even smaller, espically for the 360.

I just sold an entire collection of 55 Xbox games and never once regretted it.

I'm sorry that I read your comments in an actual context so I can respond with an effective answer. As far as infancy goes, you saying "BLOW ME" is somehow better than me telling you and others not to post bullshit like this? Also, if you read my post again nowhere did I say that I knew it was coming out in November, I simply said any gamer who can think logically knew it WOULD NOT be out in the Spring.

As far as I know, a PS4 doesn't exist. Damn am I sick of these threads. Also, don't pair me up with b3b0p. I own an Xbox and I've been actively seeking a Xbox 360 ever since GRAW got released. They both have quality games I don't want to miss out on.

Everyone who takes this negatively and to the same extents as you and others, need to just go elsewhere. Any educated person who has any computer savy in respects of emotional icons could see that this was all meant to come off as humorous. Now all those against my OP might argue that this is an equivalent translation because of the context and it is meant to be humorous. If so you are basically supporting/agreeing to that which you've attacked throughout this post. If anyone else takes this the wrong way I apologize, but it is clear from the entire OP that it was not meant to be an attack, but as one can see many things can be taken out of context because all we see is words and not actions... even though actions are exibited and voiced via text and animations.
 
its only been delayed in japan.

u.s folks expected it about 6 months after japan which would of been around nov/dec 06.

So its right on track for me here living in the states expecting it for nov/dec 06.

I would be a little pissed off if i lived in japan and just found out now we have to wait 6 more months before the release but im sure it will be well worth it.

Im still guessing at a 399.99 price point as well. with just 1 version of the console all of them with a 60gig HDD. thats my hope.

It would be nice if the states could actually get more then 1 color of the console like japan always gets.

Who cares. Once people get a whiff of Wii it will be all over. Seriously, why the hell buy an xbox 360? Same EXACT games. Same EXACT style of play. There have been no changes whatsoever besides graphics. Nintendo is definitely on the right track. Imagine the possibilites. Swinging the controller in baseball, slashing the controller like a sword. It is going to be one hell of a system.
 
I bought the PS1 and PS2... Didnt buy Xbox but I bought a 360.... Still not sure about PS3 sony keeping too many things in the briefcase.. If its $600 for a system i think thats a little insanse.
Wii... I feel nintendo going in a different direction it dosent sound like a video game system it sounds like a really stupid concept.... For this system im going to say good luck to nintendo for 3rd party support with this thing....

I was being comical as well, couldn't you tell? I don't know why you took my post so seriously. It was SO obvious that I was merely being funny.
 
Kudos to Nintendo for taking a chance on the controller. I think Nintendo has a really good chance of being the underdog that is going to take a big bite out of the other two. They are the only one of the three that is trying to do something innovative. I am sure the PS3 will be good but I am not that excited about it(I will probably eventually get one, not on launch though).

P.S. So that the flaming continues, I disagree with everyone about everything they say.
