these are some steals i found at hastings recently

Metal slug 4/5 for x-box $5
Geist $5

pretty hard to beat those prices.

this was at the hastings in spokane,
i'm assuming these prices are storwide, but i can't confirm that.

anyway hopes this saves ya some $$

Hmm...looks like I will be going to check out Hastings this afternoon. I'll report back once I find out what's up at the Hastings in Lawrence, KS.
 
Wow, I'm gonna have to check my Hastings tonight on that Metal Slug price. I didn't bother with Geist during the TRU sale, but I guess it can't hurt to grab it either if I can pick it up for $5.
 
What is a hastings? Damn all these stores I never heard of or dont have around me. I miss a lot of the deals from about 5 different stores mentioned often here that I dont have. Damn it again!

Hastings is a chain of stores that only exist in smaller towns outside of big cities, because their poor pricing policies dont allow them to actually compete with real competition.
 
Just got back from Hastings and scored 2 copies of Metal Slug 4/5. Thought about picking up Geist, but the copy in the display case has $49.99 sticker. One copy of Metal Slug is going up for trade. I want to trade before selling, but if there are no takers for trade, ZForce915 you have first dips at buying.:)

someone should check the prices of Skygunner and Eternal Darkness next time you go there. They are still stickered at something obscene, like either 44.95 or 49.99. And if they are still that price, then...thats dum.

Edit: since these games are cheap, maybe the trade in value would be high if the prices are indeed that high. Something exploitable :twisted:
 
What is idiotic about these $4.99 titles is that Total Overdose "Used" at Hastings is $29.99. I believe the rest are at least $19.99 used.
 
If someone could pick me up a copy of Geist, 2 copies of Metal Slug 4/5, a copy of Total Overdose, and a copy of NBA Street V3; I will be willing to pay $20.00 to have them shipped. Please! If only Metal Slug, then $6.50 per copy for shipping.

Not only did ricdafric` offer the $6.50 for one of the titles, but he offered $20 for 4 of them

This is $.04 below cost before you even take in account tax & shipping; I've heard of lowballing, but this is ridiculous. Maybe I misread the post, but highly unlikely.

He wanted $20 for 5 games (2 copies of Metal Slug). I just don't understand this at all.
 
I think he was willing to pay $20 in addition to the cost of the 5 games.

Or $6.50 on top of $5 for Metal Slug.

At least I hope that's what he was trying to communicate.

I hope so too. I said I might have misread and would hope so seeing as how ricdafric` is a veteran here. If the OP is suppose to read like you have stated jaybird, then it is not a bad offer.

You might want to clarify your post. $20 for all five games including shipping, or you'd add $20 to the total of the five games?

If that's the case then no big deal. If he wants someone to pick the games up for him, I hope that is the case.

there's 3 around where i live. Hastings prices are wacky.

new geist- $5 used geist -$40
insane stuff.

i tried to pick up another copy of metal slug 4/5 but it was priced $29.99
i explained to them that another store across town was selling for $5.

but just got the usually "that's what's ringing up in our systems as" blah blah.
so sorry i tried to get some extra copies to no avail.

in other news. Sky gunner is now a whopping $22.50 ;)

That $29.99 ring up is BS. I could be wrong and this could be YMMV, but most games I purchase from Hastings the prices are manually entered after they scan them.
 
If someone can grab me a copy of Metal Slug, I will be very happy to pay $15 shipped. I'll even pay the extra 60 cents or whatever the cost of delivery confirmation is.

EDIT: Crap I didn't even notice it was for Xbox. I guess I got too excited there. Well if the PS2 version also happens to be on sale and someone can grab one of those, my offer still applies :p
 
Sometimes the markdowns are YMMV. Neudog posted that Total Overdose markdown and mine didn't do it.. however, this past week, they knocked it down to $5.

So if it's still ringing up full price, wait a week or two.

//edit: And clearance prices CAN be YMMV. I scanned one game at the Clarksville store and it was $12.99, I took the same barcode to the Murfreesboro store and it scanned at $49.99. It's weird as hell.

And that's why I take Hastings' deals with a grain of salt. Usually they are limited to just the area where the OP found it. Sometimes they can go storewide, but for the most part, it all seems to be a big YMMV. : /

Not are they only YMMV, but are also a limited time only. A couple months ago my Hastings had Neo Contra for $8.75 (I know it is a weird price) and now it is sticker priced for $29.99. I know I don't have to tell you, but those who are hesitant when it comes to buying cheap games, whether 1 copy or multiples, you need to grab these ASAP.

My Hastings, St Joe MO, had one copy of MS 4 & 5 Xbox but it wasn't on sale. In fact it was $39.99, not $29.99.

Did anyone else receive the 20% of coupon in the mail last week? I'm thinking about picking up Guitar Hero with it.

Did you bother to scan it? My Hastings rarely updates prices, they still have Star Wars Battlefront (the first one) marked $49.99 but it rings up $19.99.
 
Wichita Falls, TX has Geist for 39.99, this was scanned. I didnt even bother to check for Metal Slug after that. I assume that at least all TX prices are in sync.

Sure did. Asked the lady for an odd request for a preice scan before I bought it. She looked @ me funny, shrugged and price checked it for me.
 
Hastings never has consistent national sales or deals. And my Hastings never has good sales except maybe the buy-2-get-1-for-$0.01 I'm not even going to bother to look.
