I'm wondering who is watching (or if this in the past tense when you read this - watched ;)) Bush's address to the nation and what your thoughts are?

EDIT: I just realized I put this in the wrong forum. Could a mod please move this to the Vs. forum?

I'm watching it. I believe that Bush would love to have an all white America. Don't get me wrong that there are some Mexicans who come here to breed like rabbits and live off the system. However, many come here to work hard and those shouldn't be penalized. Remember unless your Native American you are an immigrant too.

Prison Break and 24 will just start 20 minutes later than usual. That is all.

I'm not saying its a bad thing at all but Bush sure must love that Master Gunnery Sgt guy he referenced in tonight's speech. Look at this excerpt from a July 2003 speech:
In recent events -- (applause) -- in recent events, we have learned the names of some exceptional young men and women who have shown the strength and character of America. At a hospital in Washington, I met Master Gunnery Sergeant Guadalupe Denogean, an immigrant from Mexico who has served in the Marine Corps for 25 years. In March, he was wounded in combat in Basra and sent back to America for treatment. When I asked if he had any requests, the Master Gunnery Sergeant had just two. He wanted a promotion for the Colonel who rescued him. And he wanted to be an American citizen. (Applause.)
I was there the day that Guadalupe Denogean took the oath of citizenship. From the hospital where he was recovering, this son of Mexico raised his right hand and pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. He had kept -- (applause) -- he had kept that oath for decades before he took it. I'm proud to call him a fellow America. (Applause).
I agree that the Border Patrol is woefully understaffed & underfunded, given the function expected of its ranks. Therefore, re-directing more National Guard--I believe the National Guard has already helped patrol the Southern border before this, so this isn't a new thing, really--to ramp up border security from a formality to something closer to a reality seems like something long overdue.

However, I find the President's casual attitude towards American companies who hire illegal employees (he cites the difficulty in determining an employee's legal status, given the abundance of forged documents) to be quite lame. The emperor's new clothes, indeed.
