I was wondering what you folks would recommend for repairing scuffed or scratched discs. I see alot of machines sold in stores, but I want to know which one is best and if I should buy a compund to make it work better.

About a year ago, I brought a scratched up copy of MK4 for PS1 to a Gamestop, and they tried resurfacing the game for me with a Gamedoctor. So, you could always try briging the game you want resurfaced to one.

Well I had an extremely scuffed up Suikoden II along with some other games I shipped off to estarland.com. The dummies over there ended up losing the games after they've been resurfaced so now they're telling me to wait till next week. So yea I had the games shipped and arrived to them in the middle of April. I'd recommend going to GameCrazy though since they usually have a professional machine there that resurfaces the discs. It rubs down a small layer of the plastic and applies a new coating.

I think professional resurfacing machines are more effective than gamedoctor. Gamedoctor and consumer targeted machines tend to actually scuff up discs.

same here, but I think it depends if the dumbass knows how to do it, I took in GRAW on 360 and the guy fucked it up even more.

Haha, that sucks. I would kick his ass. The guy that does mine is a good friend so he always does it right for me.

For real though make sure you get it done professionally to the original poster. There is a good chance that the doityourself kits will make things even worse.
