What is the one (or two) TV shows on DVD that you have yet to get?

I'm refering to series in which all seasons are on DVD or close to it with one or two left to come out and you've bought none of them at all.

For me, it would really have to be Futurama. Everytime there is a damn good sale, I'm totally flat broke till after the sale has ended.

Seinfeld.... discovered how great this show is over the summer... can't get enough of it... yea I know it was cancelled back in 1998.. but man this is a great series :)

Anyways which season is good to get these days?

If I remember correctly, most fans think it peaked around S4&5.
Futurama and South Park
I'd have to agree with South Park. Have been getting into a lot in the past year or so. Another is The Fresh Prince. I used to watch that show all the time as a kid when it was on for an hour everyday.

Futurama is totally worth it. It's THE best TV show on DVD right now.

As for my pick, it's King of the Hill. I've only got the first because it was cheap, but none of the rest has really gotten that cheap when I've had the money. Since the show's nearly it's last episodes sometime soon, I can't wait for some kind of deal ($20 per season set) that I can pick the rest up for cheap.

Lost Season 1, and now 2 (I never watched any of it). Saw the first few eps of S01, and now I'd like to have a weekend to watch as much as I can.

Also I wanna get some Little Britain DVDs (if there's more than 1?). I only catch it on TV randomly at like 1am, but it's just too funny.

All of them. Seriously, there's tons I want right now, yet am not getting. Top of my list though... Buffy. That's an endeavor getting all of those, right there. I don't know what else, Wonderfalls, Threshold, lots of stuff...

There are a TON of series I want to pick up, mostly childhood cartoons.

Right now though, I still want to pick up:

Home Movies (I haven't bought any of the four seasons...waiting for a deal!)
Futurama (Never got them when they were on sale.)
The Simpsons (I've got a few on sale, but have missed some.)
Beavis & Butthead (I don't have any of these either, but I want them.)

I have up to the next to the last of the Simpsons and Beavis and Butt Head. I wish I had been able to pick up the gate fold X-Files seasons right when they dropped to 50

Futurama and Dead like me. The box sets of Dead like me never go on sale. Also just like HumanSnatcher evertime Futurama is on sale I'm broke as well.

If they put Furutama on sale for BF this year, I all ready know that my new credit card will be screamin for mercy lol

As for Dead Like Me, I've never seen any shows from any premium channel really be on sale. Cheapest I've seen is I think Carneval(sp?) for like 45 at Sams club....

There is no such thing as a bad season of Seinfeld. ;) That's probably the one show that I've seen more than any other, having re-watched the episodes over & over again - and I still never get tired of it.

I'd say X-Files is probably the main one. I mentioned it in the other tv on dvd thread recently, but I never got into the show when it first aired. I'm waiting on it to hit $20 or less a season, and I think it's finally getting close.

Other than that, I wouldn't mind trying some Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, or Babylon 5 - 3 more sci-fi series that I never really watched. But again, when the price & timing is right...

For some reason, I haven't gotten the last 2 volumes of Family Guy.

Whenever I go to buy them I always end up buying another DVD set like Futurama.

But IMO, Futurama was way worth getting over Family Guy.

Most of mine are easy 1 or 2 season 80s cartoons: GI Joe, DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, and the like. Hell, I realized I already have half of the Thundercats and He-Man releases, since those were also only two seasons. It's amazing how 60-100 episodes of cartoons can last for years when you're a kid.

I've generally avoided going after long-running series, because I would try to go all or nothing. And buying 10 seasons of Law and Order just would not be good.

There are a bunch of HBO shows I'd love to have

The Wire
Deadwood
Rome
The Sopranos

but I probably wouldn't pay more than $20 per, so I doubt I'll ever actually own them. Would be great if a buddy would buy them so I could borrow them.

There are LOTS:
- Freaks and Geeks (best one season show ever)
- Undeclared (decent set)
- Entourage
- Family Guy
- Sopranos
- Surface (I enjoyed the show)

I'm going to echo a few that have already been mentioned:

Home Movies
Beavis & Butt-Head
Futurama
Sealab 2021

I'd also like to complete my collections of Aqua Teens, Family Guy, and The Simpsons (missing the latest season of each).

ducktales, rescue rangers... and that show 30 days, or whatever its called. You know, the show with martin spurlock (super size me), where they show a family doing something for 30 days i.e. live on welfare for 30 days was the one episode i saw.

I need to get ATHF Vol 1 and Gilmore Girls (wife) Vol 5 & 6 to complete those (GG 7 will be out next year).

Sets I'd like to buy for under $15:
-Dawson's Creek (shut up)
-Harvey Birdman
-The Saint (62-69)
-Star Trek DS9, TNG
-Smallville

The X-Files. Which is pretty sad considering it's my all-time favorite show. When the next DDD sale comes around, though, the slim sets are mine.
The Shield. I don't think I'd watch them more than once, though. So I've held off so far.
they are 19.99 per season now and then so its not too bad even if u only watch it once or twice.

Mine are

X-files
Adventures of Brisco County Jr
The Tick(animated)
Lost (I hear good things, but its just harder to watch an hour show on dvd)

How many seasons of The Simpsons have been released so far? Whenever they're all out, I'll get 'em.

I want to complete my Saved By The Bell set at some point - I'm missing the final seasons that have been released.

Alot of people feel the way you do, which is why these DVD publishers are now running deals where Seasons 1 - 4 of a television show are $19.99, for instance.

I had one season of Seinfeld I got real cheap, and managed to finish my collection when the rest of them were on sale for $19.99. Did the same for South Park, Simpsons, Veronica Mars (only S1, though), too many others to list.

It is a very effective and very awesome tool, because you're right, who wants to spend $40 on a season when there are 6 or 7 seasons to get?

To answer the OP, I'd like to pick up King of Queens and um... finish Curb your Enthuasim.

Where are they $20 each? I need to get Season 4 as a Xmas gift for my dad and the best I can find is $35 from Amazon currently.

At the rate they are going, you're going to be waiting a long time to get all of The Simpsons on DVD. Eventually stores will stop carrying the older sets or they will get hard to find.

They are on Season 8 now, I think they just started Season 18 on Sunday. At this rate it'll be like 2010 before they are all out.

I got the DVD's just because they keep showing the same 30 or so episodes in syndication.

well i remember it awhile ago when the previous seasons came out. I picked up 2 and 3 from Target on Black Friday for 19.99 each. All the seasons will prob be on sale when season 5 comes out though i am unsure if thats before or after Black Friday

That's my current plan, to wait and hope they go on sale between now and Xmas. If they don't, $35 from Amazon will have to do. Oh well, was hoping there was some sale I had missed.

Well I know they're expensive, but the 24 season boxsets. I came into the show two seasons late but have watched them over and over. Great stuff

I'd like Futurama and Simpsons--don't have any of those DVD sets.

I wish Ghost Whisperer would come out on DVD already. JLH...

I want to add

Knight Rider Season 2-4 (already have season 1)

Heman S1v2-Current whatever it is up to dvds

Alf season 2-4

Beast Wars seasons 1 and 2

Beavis and butthead V2 and V3

Thundercats Vol 3 and 4

Babylon 5 season 1-3

The Boondocks!

Although I missed the sale when it first came out and don't really want to pay $40 for season 1
