Bokura no Taiyou: Django and Sabata (Lunar Knights) for DS $24.90

Well, the NTSC U/C version comes out in less than 1 month and you'll be able to get that for $24.99 after coupon @ Best Buy so I recommend waiting.

It is a great deal though if you are actually fluent in japanese. It'd somewhat wreck the experience though if you had no clue what was going on.

I got Boktai 2 for $3.50 recently and was exposed to the Boktai Paradox:

You need sunlight to play Boktai.

If you have sunlight, because of the glare, you cannot see the screen.

Since you cannot see the screen, you cannot play Boktai with sunlight.

fuck you too, Kojima.

$3.50? I paid $7.99 apiece for those 2 a few days ago. :hot:

I thought Boktai required sunlight and Boktai 2 had 'sunlight enhanced gameplay'? Meh. What about playing the games on a DS Lite? Aren't they a little better in direct sunlight? Or does the sensor face down when you put the game in a DS?

As much as I always wanted to play Boktai, I think the developers had the wrong idea. Gamers don't go into the sunlight. That's why they're all pasty white and ailing. Or something. The DS version interests me, but Japanese text would make me cry. Pass.
I was on a DS Lite, and I still couldn't see crap in the sun.
that's why they renamed this game and got rid of the sensor. the sun is now in-game (on the top screen), due to too many complaints.

Boktai...good idea on paper, but terrible for a game. I only got about 2 hrs in the first one, and once I started sweating, I got pissed off and traded in both.

Very hard to see, and I was hot! I was definitely not having a good time. It wasn't a bad game, but the sun factor really kills it badly. Still, I'm open to this one since the sun is no longer a problem.

Agreed. I really liked the idea and it was a fun game (though due to the angle I found it impossible to sidle against walls easily and changing the controls just made it confusing) but yeah, when you're in bright sunlight (i.e. Kansas, middle of July, under the noon sun) and have such bad glare that you can't really even see the game yet fail to get 100% on the sun meter (even after calibrating in a dark, windowless closet) it's an issue. Fun game, great premise, clever idea, but it sadly just doesn't work in practice. I'm hoping this new one manages to make it work.
