Just wanted to warn everybody about these creeps. Bought an auction for a PSP game that had 'BRAND NEW' and 'Sealed' all over it. Just recieved it to find that it has been re-sealed with one of those crappy shrink wrapping machines (no Y-folds or anything), AND these idiot motherfuckers put the manual OUTSIDE OF THE CASE!

That's right, they stuck the manual on the back of the box, then sealed around it, instead of putting the manual inside! Truly, a shoddy scam job. I can think of no game that was ever shipped from the factory 'BRAND NEW' that had the basic game manual outside of the game case!

Just wanted to spread the word about these fraudsters and their deceptive practices. The sad thing is, look at their feedback, and think how many unsuspecting soccer moms and less discerning customers they've been screwing. These assholes are true scum.

Wow.. outside of the case? Really?

I wish companies would stop using the shrinkwrap without the y folds for PSP games. Some like many games from EA have that junkier shrinkwrap and it makes it impossible to tell if a game is resealed or not (in this case it sounds like it resealed).

The Y fold can also be non-factory sealed; although it is less common. So you have to be careful no matter the type of seal. Some of us had issues with the "pieceofmind" seller on Amazon/Ebay that was using a Y fold reseal.

i would love to join your party but i have two questions (first) about the item: which game was this and was the manual in french? often times publishers would attach the manuals in french in the back of the case and reseal them.

i think these guys are either distributors or have access to distributors since they do sell a great deal on ebay. they also have several accounts in which they use to buy games from other ebay members and flip them to amazon. while thats really nothing new to anyone, i also wanted to point out that sometimes they will file a claim or ask for a return if they couldnt sell it.

i also hate the fact that they fucking flood ebay with the same shit for the same price.

I suspect Mega Man Zero Collection for DS might be that way too.

just file a dispute

What was the return address on the envelope? Maybe they had someone else ship it to you. I think they are from Kentucky? (Though that might be wrong).

You are right, they are from Kentucky

Yeah lots of DS games are factory sealed with the thin type of shrinkwrap too. Except Nintendo published titles.

HitGaming is also that company that doubles or triples the price of the game whenever Amazon goes out of stock, temporarily or otherwise.

I can't imagine how many of these games with inflated prices are actually re-seals.

Yeah, it was shipped from KY. I immediately sent them a message through eBay, and got no reply for 2 days (it was the weekend, FWIW). I filed a dispute with PayPal, then had a response yesterday. They offered a replacement or a full refund, and have even offered to cover the return postage. Here's the part that I loved the most:

"Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We would greatly appreciate it if you would not give us a less than 5 star detailed seller rating because of this. We really do want to make this right."

Ha...we'll see about that; not that it really matters, these hucksters have over 300,000 feedback.

I can do you one better. I bought one of the Pokemon GBA games from Hitgaming which came (re)sealed with no game inside!

thats even worse.

they are officially on my shitlist. noram seems to have changed their ways of doing business..
Just buy games used. The only difference is you get to unwrap the Y-fold. Save $ instead = more games long term.
I already have a few copies of this game. I was specifically looking for a factory-sealed copy to add to my collection. Factory-sealed as in the way it would come if I found it at KMart or WalMart, not a used game re-shrinkwrapped by some shoddy company.

i wonder was it also them gameroomdealsinc . i bought 2 ps2 game from them claimed to be new but both were just resealed games and missing manuals . contact them and was told they will send me the shipping label but they changed there mind and told me i can keep it. also got the full refund.

And speaking as someone from Kentucky and someone who works in customer service, I am ashamed of these hosers and would kick them out of my state if I could.

The feedback extortion makes me want to kick them out with steel-toed boots. To the head.

I think Noram flip-flopped. While in the past they sold re-sealed used games as new, I recently purchased a used game from them on Amazon and instead got a factory sealed copy in perfect condition. Even the factory-wrap looked perfect.

Have you had any experience with "Thebookgrove" though? They are large seller on Amazon and they sold me a used game once when I ordered new. Looking at their feedback confirms they do this not only with games but with books as well.

By the way, some games DO come factory sealed with manuals on the outside. Canadian copies do as well as some games where the manual is too big to fit inside the box (Star Ocean Greatest Hits on PS2 has non Y-fold with the manual sealed outside the box. All copies were sealed that way).

alot of retailers are doing the NEW-BUT-USED games. people like the idea of buying USED games because they think they can buy it for alot less. like for instance at TRU they had FF Rings of Fate for $29.99 used but the regular NEW version is $19.99 or $24.99. but they are very identical except for that barcode sticker for the used version.

maybe noram is just being nice now and taking things from cags that are factory sealed still as used also but they aren't opening them. they still have alot of hiccups on ebay because they'd sell stock that doesn't exist which usually happens when youre on 2 different marketplaces (its harder to inventory both at the same time).

Just got a PS3 game from Big Game Vendor that was resealed. I had higher hopes for them since they weren't hitgaming/videogamesupply. Turns out these guys are probably related as well since they're also from KY

Best Buy uses an excellent resealer with y-folds. You really can't tell the difference. Of course they have a big sticker on the shrink wrap that's really hard to get off, and once you do, it leaves a big sticky mess on it. Not only that, but since you can't open it, you can't tell it it's complete or if games have scratches on them. So even though Best Buy has a great resealing machine, nobody can try to sell those as new.

Not that I tried. Just an observation.

Also, how can you tell the difference between a new and resealed game? Besides that it doesn't have y-folds when it should.
