PS3 price cut coming in Feb?

With all the hype surrounding the PS4 it kinda flew under the radar that the PS3 was still $200 I think for the 3rd straight holiday season. I think it will be cut to $200 around E3 & this BF will be the 1st time under $200(hopefully $150).

Patcher(says Feb.) but if they were willing to drop it that soon they would`ve been better served dropping it last yr that way they get the extra holiday boost.

I think MS should be the one concerned about price drops. $199 is still the MSRP for the 4GB and $299 is still the MSRP for the 4GB + Kinect or 250GB consoles.

And I think they're still charging something ridiculous for the stand alone kinect ($109.99 maybe?).

Only MS would run a month long sale of $179.99 for the 4GB and $250 for the 4GB + Kinect or 250GB and then once they launch the new system (X1) raise the price back up.

But in regards to the PS3 I doubt you see anything less then $179.99 (12GB) or $229.99 for the bundles (MSRP) with frequent sales of $199.99

If you're hoping for a MSRP $150 you're going to be disappointed

 
I think $180 could work for 320 GB but I`d probably only re-up for a 500GB w/PS+ and a game for $200. Since I expect some better GC offers this yr. I think Sony`s gonna use the PS3 w/PS+ to "lead" customers into the PS4 era. Once the PS4 drops to $300-$350 in 2 yrs that will be the next wave of upgrades.
Now TLOU2 along with 2 more equally touted titles that could greatly fast forward things.
 
Waiting for a price drop on ps3. My slim is starting to really crap out now. Only can read single layer games. Cant seem to read double layer bluray discs. So its basically useless watching bluray movies on it now. A $200 500gb ps3 with PS+ would be awesome.

same here, i want to get one for cheap just in case, even though mine can still play/read disc. recently last week, it has started to make these loud humming almost vacuum cleaner like loud noises.

 
It's sad that a price cut to $200 is seen as a drop. There were so many sales during christmas at this price already. I'd like to see the 500GB be $200 or the smaller one be $150.

I can't agree with dropping it last holiday season. You don't need to create competition for your brand new console in either the store fronts or the headlines.

No real competition $400 PS4 vs a $150-$180 PS3. If the PS4 was like $250 then I could see it but it`s quite late in the PS3 lifetime & for 3 straight yrs that price was available so no need to must buy.
 
My guess is that it'll drop to around $150 this year. But my dream is a $99 Black Friday PS3.

We'll see what happens. I'm in no rush with my current backlog of games.
