Unfortunately, this game only allows you to choose your gender. You can, however, change your hair further on in the game, and you can buy different clothing.

No, you have to unlock the ability to change your appearance.

You can sort of decide by finding an answer guide online and answering the questions a certain way. But mostly, it's random.

If you look online, you'll find guides that will explain how to make your character look a certain way or the other.

Your looks are created based on the answers given while on the train to your new town.

Well in the beginning of the game they ask a few questions and based upon your answers, your face will be determined. You CAN change hair, hair color and eye color once you unlock the store, but the facial features cannot be changed after you answer those questions. They DO have guides online on which answers will create a certain face so you can either look that up (just search Animal Crossing: New Leaf face guide), or you can take it by chance (which is also kind of fun)

When you start a new game, Rover the cat will ask you questions that will determine how your face will look.

When you start the game, you will be met by a cat named Rover. He will ask you a set of questions. By the way you answer these questions, it will determine your gender, beginning hairstyle, eyeshape and eye color.

Hairstyle and eye color can eventually be changed at Shampoodles, but eye shape can NEVER be changed. So, please google "Animal Crossing New Leaf eye chart" and base your answers upon which eye shape you want!

Looking at my grand kids, the first thing they wanted to show me was how they could change the character to look like them.

When you first start the game, you are just given a look, but after you have played a short time, a beauty shop opens up in town and you can change your look or even pick one of your Mii faces, and even change it again later if you want to. When I first started the game, I did not like that I could not choose, I am not a person who cares for pink hair and it was hard to get used to having brown eyes, just had trouble making that be me, but now I love Mii, Harriet of Shampoodle will give you a makeover, only once per day, but other than that she will give you a make over everyday if you like. I love using my Mii faces.

The system for choosing your face is not explained at all. They build a character based upon the answers you provide in the start of the game.

There is an older version with this same title made for older systems.

3DS games cannot fit in any of the other DS handhelds due to an additional piece on the game cartridge itself. You can play all older DS games on the 3DS though.

The cartridge has a little edge that sticks out at the top right which keeps it from fitting into DSi or DSlite consoles.

Animal Crossing New Leaf can only be on the Nintendo 3DS

My understanding is that this is a 3DS game, and therefore it is for a 3DS. But if you purchase a 3DS you can play all games on it.

Regular DSi games can be played on the DS3 console, but you cannot play a 3D game on a 2D console.

I was shocked when my grand kids wanted this game considering their typical game choices, but it has turned out to be one of the best purchases. They love it. Both boys, 9 and 10 years old.

Great game

I absolutely love this game and all of the new features! I have been hooked on it since my children were playing it years ago. I know that adults are not supposed to play video games but this is nice calm, and relaxing way to unwind after a long day!

Better than the older version

This game blew me away, as a fan of the other games I still was skeptical of this, as I am now much older than I was when I originally started playing. I was blown away by the advances in game play and plot development. This game will be enjoyable to anyone of all ages.

One of the best games I own

This is not a game about winning or losing. It's just nice relaxing enjoyment. I do enjoy my Donkey Kong (Country Returns) and the Mario & Bro. games, but to just spend a little time gathering fruit, fishing or bug hunting. Going to Paradise Island for little more active fun (running around hunting for treasures listed, for hide and seek and such is also fun. I love to just rearrange the furniture (much easier than for real, even tough I have always enjoyed that also). It's fascinating to watch your "neighbors" with their lives. I look forward to the holidays to see what treat Isabelle has come up with. It's just enjoyable and doesn't cramp my hands.

A great easy and relaxing game.

I loved the original AC on the Gamecube. This game is close to the original in alot of ways but there is so much more extra stuff!!! for one,You're the Mayor! You can choose where you want your house to be built,customize your house's door & walls. You have a shooping center with Tom Nook's stores,yes, has not 1 store.. but 2!!! one is his Realtor store,the other is his basic lil shop wiht..you guessed it! Timmy & Tommy!! there's also A recycle store where you take your items to sell and they restore and recycle things! (tip, they pay more bells than tom nook's stores) You can swim!! you can dive and catch crawdads! you have an ATM machine where you can keep you bells! you dont have to send off your fossils to the museum anymore! just take them to Blathers and he'll examine them! Theres 2 lockers at the train station where you can store stuff if you need more room.I just bought this game so that's all I know about it so far. If you loved the GC version you will love this!!!! AC fans rejoice!!!!!!
