A great look at the Chicago mob of the 1960's and Sam Giancana. The story is unusual in that it looks at his involvment with one of the McGuire sisters who were a very popular late fifties and early sixties singing act. It shows how dedicated Sam Giancana was to his lover even at the risk of his own future. It further shows the actions of the mob and their influence and power. It was well acted and Penelope Ann Miller steals the show as Giancana's love interest. Plus you get to hear many of the most popular McGuire sisters hit songs from the period.
Sam Giancana has been portrayed my many actors in film, but John Turturro's portrayal of him is unmatched. This is by far his best movie in my opinion. Mary Louise-Parker, who plays Phyllis McGuire of the McGuire Sisters and the object of Sam's affection, is excellent as well. Their turbulent romance is played out in this mob flick which, if you like mob movies, is a great one to watch.
Very enjoyable characters.

Quality is outstanding. Storyline is great. If you like musicals of the 60's. You'd like this true life story of Sam Giancana and Phillis McGuire of the singing group Mcquire sisters trio. Sam Giancana was a Vegas mobster. Both John Turturro and Mary-Louise Parker outstandingly played the parts beautifully. The movie was never boring.
