Improvements for Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
By Joshhhuaaa and 1 collaborators
This guide will show you how to improve your experience in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and optimize it for modern computers.

Ubisoft discontinued Pandora Tomorrow's servers in December 2006. However, the multiplayer is still playable when using virtual LAN applications.

Solo Mode Download
Downloads:
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (Solo Mode) [875 MB] - dgVoodoo2 lighting fix applied, ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix, disabled mouse acceleration, localization fixes.[drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
After downloading, extract the contents, and you should have a Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder. You can place it anywhere you like, it's portable.

In order to play the game, open the Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder > System folder > SplinterCell2.exe is the executable to start up the game.
Widescreen Support and Shadow Buffers
Downloads:
ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix with dgVoodoo2 included[drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy content of archive to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder.

You may configure additional settings from:
offline \ system \ scripts \ SplinterCellPandoraTomorrow.WidescreenFix.ini
[MAIN] ResX = 0 ResY = 0 ForceShadowBufferMode = 1 // Use with d3d8 wrapper that comes with this fix or any other that fixes the issue. FMVWidescreenMode = 1 // Cutscenes and movies will be fullscreen. HudWidescreenMode = 1 // Makes certain hud elements offset to screen edges. OpsatWidescreenMode = 0 // Makes opsat overlay widescreen by stretching it's center part. WidescreenHudOffset = 140.0 // This is the default offset for 16:9. For lower aspect ratios adjusted automatically, for higher you may change it manually. PostProcessFixedScale = 1 // Game uses 512 by default. Increasing the value makes night vision mode render in higher resolution. If set to 1, ResX will be used instead.
Disabling Mouse Acceleration
Mouse acceleration is enabled by default in first person camera modes with the weapon drawn.

Downloads:
ESettings.ini (useAimTuning disabled) [drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy configuration file to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow \ offline \ system folder.

Note: Disabling mouse acceleration will not affect Auto Saves and Quick Saves created before making this change.
Textures
The PlayStation 3 HD Textures are known to cause certain shadows to not render correctly through alpha textures (see below). Some of the replacement textures that Ubisoft decided to use weren't always great either. Some may prefer the new textures, but it definitely is debatable to use them or not.

Downloads:
PC Original Textures [drive.usercontent.google.com]
PlayStation 3 HD Textures [Not Recommended] [drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy content of archive to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder.

If you would like to keep the default HUD with PS3 HD Textures, do not replace HUDPC.utx.

Example of the PS3 HD Textures not rendering shadows correctly:

Frame Rate
Pandora Tomorrow was developed with a target frame rate of 30 frames per second. Exceeding this frame rate can cause problems with AI pathing, physics, and other elements that are dependent on frame rate. To minimize these issues, it is recommended to cap the frame rate at 60 FPS, even when using a high refresh rate monitor.

By default, Pandora Tomorrow allows for a maximum frame rate of 200 frames per second, often leading to significant issues.

How To:
There are many programs to use to lock your game at 60 frames per second. Both NVIDIA Control Panel and AMD Radeon Settings have an option to lock the frame rate for a particular game.

As an alternative, we also can recommend using the latest version of NVIDIA Profile Inspector [github.com] (for NVIDIA graphics cards only), or using MSI Afterburner.[download.msi.com]
Versus Mode Download
If this is your first time wanting to play the Versus modes for the Splinter Cell games, it is highly recommend checking out Enhanced SCCT Versus instead in the Chaos Theory guide. SCPT Versus is often considered obsolete as SCCT Versus nearly improves every aspect of it and includes all SCPT Versus maps.

Enhanced SCPT Versus is a major patch I have created to fix bugs and exploits while improving gameplay.

Enhanced SCPT Versus v1.3 (82 MB) - dgVoodoo2 lighting fix applied.[github.com]

Enhanced SCPT Versus Setup Guide[github.com]
Enhanced SCPT Versus Patch Notes[github.com]

How To:
After downloading the game, extract the contents, and you should have an Enhanced SCPT Versus 1.1 folder. You can place it anywhere you like, it's portable.

In order to play the game, run the command script, "Play SCPT_Versus.cmd".
Mouse Polling Rate
Currently, many mice come with polling rates that can reach 1000 Hz or higher. However, in Pandora Tomorrow, higher polling rates may cause issues with your mouse aim. If your mouse allows it, try setting the polling rate to 125 Hz through software. This issue also applies to all games in the series, from the original Splinter Cell to Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It is possibly related to the use of the Unreal Engine 2.

ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix comes included with the downloads, by default it is expecting to be played on your native monitor resolution, which is likely a 16:9 aspect ratio or greater.

If you're wanting to play on a 4:3 aspect ratio, simply disable the widescreen mode in the config located in system\scripts\SplinterCellPandoraTomorrow.WidescreenFix.ini

FMVWidescreenMode = 0
HudWidescreenMode = 0

In the same config, you can also adjust your resolution:
ResX = 0
ResY = 0

0x0 will auto detect your monitor's native resolution. If you want a low resolution like 640x480 in the config:
ResX = 640
ResY = 480

I'm kinda clueless with this sort of stuff. I want it at the lowest resolution, but the UI on the bottom right gets cut off partially. Any remedy to this?

Using D8VK (Custom DXVK for Direct3D 8) in replacement for Dgvoodoo2, with a custom dxvk.con configuration file pointed to the binary to add in native x16 Anisotropic Filtering and x4 swapchain MSAA.

Using IceLancer's D3D8 from November 2nd 2018 and using DXWnd makes it playable for me, even with the videos. Thank you guys.

Have made one for Pandora Tomorrow at least.

Hey @Joshua, I have created a modernized controller scheme (Xbox Series X) for these games. Could you include them in the individual guides as well?

My controller scheme aims to strike a balance between kbm and controller. It is also optimized for pure and aggressive stealth playstyles.

Not sure how to share the Steam link with you.

0x0 didn't automatically use my native resolution. It was low-res in game and had to set it. Changing the .ini around does nothing for me

Hey guys, when it says all the fixes are included does that mean I don't need to do anything after downloading the game? Thanks for the help, just playing splinter cell 1 now and wanted to do a full series playthrough!

@Joshua EAX had no issues in SC1 so @ounces might be closer here, I think I read something about default volume levels somewhere, I'll try that!
