Description
Features
Fights in Dead or Alive are based on a triangle system: strikes beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes
When you land an attack of one type that beats another type, like landing a strike when an opponent tries to throw, that attack becomes a Hi Counter attack and does even more damage
A special attack meter new to the series - use the Break Gauge to execute new tactics, such as a Break Blow or a Break Hold
Fatal Rush is a powerful combo attack of up to four neatly animated punches and kicks making a first-time player look like an expert
There are special regions found in most stages that cause heavy damage when a fighter gets knocked into them
Danger Zones can range from basic walls to blockbuster explosions and careening cars. Some stages also have Danger Zones within the floors as well

Smooth gameplay and great graphics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DOA 6 is both a step forward and a step back for the series. Comparing it side by side with DOA 5 you can tell how much effort they put into the character models, the cotrols are fluid and intuitive as well. This is a top knotch fighting game, and even for full price (with gamersclub discount) I don't regret my purchase. My only complaints are that the process for unlocking costumes is a total pain, and the conspicuous lack of a tag team mode. Otherwise this game is highly recommended for fans of the series and fighting game buffs in general.

Fun to play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm having a good time playing this game. It is fun and engaging with the music, characters, and the "Winner/Great!" announcer guy. The fighting is fluid and responsive, and overall pretty well polished. The graphics for the most part look fantastic. I popped in DOA5LR to compare, and there is enormous graphical improvement, which should be expected. Yes, the online modes are lacking with only ranked, but they said mode is coming later this month. Tag team matches would have been nice, although it's not included in the game, I don't see why they can't add it at a later date. Sure the $93 Season 1 DLC is kind of silly, but you are in no way required to buy it to enjoy the game cause its mostly just costumes and 2 characters. I'm sure they will release the extra characters separate purchases at some point, so I'm not worried, there are more than enough characters to learn in the base game. Overall, it is a good game that I recommend.

Beautiful, fun, fast paced fighting game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent fighting game. The graphics are beautiful, and the fighting is fast paced and fun. My only problem is with the story mode timeline progression. Instead of just letting you play out the story they let you chose a certain character and play out the scene. After it's over you're taken back to the confusing timeline screen to pick another chapter and they don't go in a particular order. I had to go online to figure out the best way to play the story chronologically and no one seems to really know, just offered the best suggestions where it seemed like the story made sense. Other than that the game was very fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Solid Gameplay overcomes problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DOA 6 is a nice looking game that runs well both online and offline. The gameplay is fast and smooth. Many of the mechanics are very similar to DOA 5 which was a solid game. There are plenty of unlocks and a weak story mode to keep single player fans busy for a few weeks. Online runs well and does the job, though at the time of my purchase the game lacked lobby systems, so you could only play ranked matches. The game is expected to receive dlc patches to fix and add this content, but the game seems to have a major problem with the high cost of dlc and delayed release of game modes. Overall i think the games gameplay shines through and is a good buy for most fighting game fans.

More of the Same
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are into Dead or Alive Series, you know what to expect here. There is plenty to love here! The graphics are detailed and amazing, controls are tight, and they actually tried their best to introduce a story mode. However, I can’t help but to think they played it a bit safe. They could’ve added more modes and customization options. If you are in a budget and can only get one fighter game,I highly recommend you check out Soul Calibur Instead. It has a lot more features and customization options (for free) than Dead or Alive’s DLC priced at $90+. Overall, I give this game a solid 8. Good but they could’ve done more.
