After doing my research, reading many reviews and comparing other models from other brands, I finally purchased the TCL 55p605 today, it competes great with my Samsung and Sony Bravia tv that I already have. The TV does a great job upscaling near 4k quality on HD signals, has HDR and doulby vision, plus Roku TV with all popular apps for a better steaming experience. It only has 3 hdmi ports but that's enough for me (cable box, game console). For all these features, a 55' screen and the amazing price of $599 this product is a steal!!! I know most of you (me included) are not familiar with the TCL brand, but for my surprise it was named the fasted growing brand in America and winner of many awards thanks to the TCL P-series. I would recommend this TV to anybody looking for a great television at a great price!!

I’ll keep it short. The best picture you can get for under $1000. My brother bought a $800 samsung and an LG and you are paying for the name. You have to go with their OLED or QLED super expensive models to get what this has. Blacks are amazing with the Full Array Local Dimming, Dolby Vision HDR is amazing, and even the speakers are good. I have a bluetooth speaker shown and a 4K apple TV. The picture is right amazing! Note: CHANGE THE SETTING! Use the * key. Put the brightest picture and choose bright HDR mode and in advanced, turn on local contrast and make the colors to “normal” or warm.

I got this TV to replace a 10-year old Toshiba Regza. Positives: -lightweight -good picture quality for the price point -easy interface to navigate -zone lighting -has wired & wireless internet capability Needs Improvement: -not a lot of adjustment options for the picture -picture can be dim if you don't change the gamma, which you can only do through the Roku app! -HDR does not play well with the 72-zone dynamic lighting -very limited features on the remote!! -Roku operating system (I'm not a fan, but it works) Overall, when I got it home and unboxed, I noticed how light it was compared with the TV it replaced. The feet had to be attached, and are admittedly a bit flimsy, but they get the job done. Once I got the remote out, I was a bit disappointed at how featureless it was - meaning you have to dig in menus and use the "D pad" for a lot of the functionality (look up Roku remote to see what it looks like). I had issues with getting the picture to remain bright when I enabled the local dimming, and discovered on the forums that the only way to fix this was through the Roku app. This ment I had to set up an account and download it to my phone - a bigger commitment then I really wanted for a one-off TV. It fit the needs, which was a basic no-frills TV connected to a game-system. It's HDR really isn't that impressive, stick with the big-name players if you really want good HDR. It'll never replace my 8000 series Sammy upstairs, but it wasn't meant to.

For the price, I am amazed how well this TV compares to a lot of the competition. In this price range I don't think there is any other TV with all the features. The Gaming performance is good, great for movies. This is one of those rare cases where i can say You get more than what you pay for. Roku remote app is a little slow when finding the TV or turning it on and such, but the private listening or the ability to listen through headphones while watching TV from your smartphone is a great convenience. I have to warn you though- private listening won't work when i PC mode mode (PC is displayed).

This TV surpasses my expectations for a budget friendly TV. The picture is phenomenal! The HDR and Dolby Vision provides incredible color and contrast. I definitely recommend changing picture setting to Movie mode right off the bat, though. The built in Roku is the best Smart TV system I've used to date. It's simple and easy to use. It also allows use of the Roku phone app as an advanced remote and for advanced picture calibration settings. However, the picture is so great in Movie mode, I didn't feel the need to mess with the expert settings. For gamers, game mode provides very little input lag. < 15 ms. I verified this with the "Is it snappy" app. I included a picture, but it doesn't do it justice. It's something that has to be seen in person. I easily recommend this TV to anyone shopping for a new set.

    Starting to unplug -

I finally had it with my Dish service, and while on the phone with Dish customer service for over 2 hours last weekend, I went online to research my options. I decided on this TV, OTA antenna, and streaming. The TV is surpassing all my expectations. Easy to use, I love the instant Roku compatibility, and the picture is spectacular (although since I was coming from a 12-year-old rear LCD Sony projection TV, probably most new TVs would 'wow' me). Even over-the-air is beautiful, and important to my master plan to dump Dish. And I love that I can pause and rewind live over-the-air TV. So I can do exactly what I used to with Dish, pause live football or other sporting events and rewind them as well, just by adding a 16gb flash drive and plugging it into the TV. The 4K content I have watched is so crisp and dynamic, Man in the High Castle was incredible to watch in 4K. I would recommend this TV as a great way to unplug, and in less than a year I will pay for the TV by not having my Dish bill any more.

Spent some time doing a little research on buying this particular set. I already owned another 4K HDR TV (Sony). This TV was a secondary TV so I was working with a budget. Picked up the TV based on some YouTube reviews. TV is spectacular. Cost roughly half than my other TV, yet delivers a better picture. Lots of contrrast. Darks are especially dark while whites are clean, bright and even. Dolby Vision, when you have the content, is so great. Xbox One X looks spectacular. As a side note, the optical audio output delivers DD 5.1/DTS 5.1 so I plug the TV into my old surround sound receiver and "it just works". Roku TV features are a nice bonus. If I have one complaint, it would be the lack of a voice remote. But for the price, there's really no room for complaining. TV does work with google assistant so there always that. I love it!

After several weeks a research, it was determined that the TCL P605 was the best 4K HDR TV for its price. I purchased it earlier this month and couldn't be happier. With streaming, gaming, and Blu-Rays, the picture quality is incredible. Since it is a smart (Roku) TV, you don't need to worry about having a 4K device to start enjoying UHD quality video. Even on an original PS4 (not a PS Pro) the upscaling is noticeable and playing games with HDR support is a sight to behold.

I bought a smaller & different brand of roku tv 1st, then I decided I wanted a bigger & better tv for my deck... and I'm so glad I stepped up in size and decided to go with the higher model this time. The picture is 10x better and I really love my roku. I did buy an antenna which gave me an extra 30 - 40 channels and with a 16gb flash drive inserted I can now rewind live tv up to 90 minutes...a feature I love with my DVR I use on my inside TV's while watching sports - rewinding highlights / pausing and enabling me to fastt forward thru commercials. The only thing I'm missing now is the right sound bar, I might get the neighbor's mad with my tv being outside on my deck

I purchased this as our main living room tv, 2 years ago and it’s still running strong. Picture is still clear and all inputs work without issue. As much as I love this tv it is a little laggy at times. It does sometimes freeze and reboot. I figure because I have it on standby and not turning it off completely. I have found that i use my nvidia shield tv more than the roku os as it is quicker.

I absolutely love this tv you can’t go wrong for this price. The value is phenomenal for a 4K HDR10 and HDR Dolby Vision FALD local dimming tv you cannot find that for under 1000$ it’s a steal! The image quality is great and if your a gamer your really gonna be happy it has extremely low latency something like 14ms and not much more with game mode off and with the newest update you can still use local dimming with game mode on. Buy this tv you will not regret it. PS4 PRO and XBOX ONE X owners this is a must buy at Best Buy and the only difference between the p605 and the p607 on Amazon is the remote.

Enough has been said in other reviews as to why this is a fantastic buy. After some color calibration, it looks just as good or better than multiple $1000+ tv's I've seen or that my friends have. If you're looking for a great 4k tv with HDR 10, buy it. You won't regret it.

If I pay more than $1000 then I’ll give it a 4 star but since it’s under $600 it’s a 5 Star for great 4K hdr quality I just wish that the viewing angle would be more than 170 but it’s all good for a 4K starter compare to other name brand with same quality. The pictures posted is taken in a low light room.

Bought the 55" TCL TV from Best Buy for the price. it does not have the full remote, only a small remote with basic buttons. The picture and sound are very good. One thing that shocked me was that after the TV is set up, a message appears saying to call to register before the TV will work. Upon calling, you are required to pay $100 to get the help line and the additional channels listed on the screen. The help line is out of the country, hard to understand individuals that were not consumer friendly. I have cable so have not used the movie channels or you tube yet.

I was really excited about this TV when it was announced. Its features are what I am looking for (4K, HDR, and low input lag) at a very reasonable price. Once I received my set, the picture quality was amazing, but after a few hours, the screen decided to stop working. I could not get an image at all even when the TV was on. I called Best Buy support to see if there were any fixes, and we tried several things including a hard reset of the unit. Nothing worked, and I ended up getting an exchange for another unit of the same model. I received the replacement unit, and again, the picture quality was amazing. But then while watching a Blu-Ray, a thin black horizontal line developed across the screen (pics attached). I tried different input sources and hard resetting the unit, but the black line did not go away. I ended up returning the TV as I didn't want to attempt another product from TCL. I'm sure I'm just unlucky, and based on other reviews, this is a great product, but I will likely increase my TV budget. I do want to note that Best Buy customer service was fantastic. The exchange process was very quick (two days), and the return at the store was hassle free.

Was excited to experience 4K / HDR with low input lag for my gaming needs. Unfortunately, it looks like I have excessive bleeding even with FALD and Local Dimming active. I did a black screen test turning off Local Contrast too high and then off but saw no discernable differences. Problem is I did not think a TV today would come with in such a state so now I have to unhook, unmount and repackage to get driven back to Best Buy and hope I don't lose the lotto a second time.
